> A to Z of Neighbours: Letter B
The A to Z of Neighbours is intended to act as an encyclopaedia of everything to do with the show. These are the entries beginning with the letter B. If you feel that we're missing anything, please let us know, either by contacting us or in the relevant thread on the Message Board.
Banks: Julie Robinson, Des Clarke and Philip Martin all worked in the local bank in Erinsborough, Pacific Bank. It was here that Phil and Julie met and fell in love, and she was held up by armed robbers. Fiona Hartman cashed Jim's liquidated cheque in the bank, meaning that his children didn't get a cent of their inheritance. Most recently, Stuart Parker, Sindi Watts and Toadfish Rebecchi were held hostage in one, bringing their on-going love triangle to a dramatic climax.
Barnsford: The fictitious English football team that Jack Scully played for during his time in England.
Barbeque: The barbeque has always been a Ramsay Street garden tradition. For social gatherings, leaving parties, birthday parties, Christmas... it suits every occasion. The barbeque itself is more famous however for its countless appearances on the opening credits, normally with Lou cooking giant sausages on them.
BBC: Home to Neighbours since October 27th 1986. The show originally aired at 12.30pm, with a repeat the following morning. However, as its popularity grew, it was moved to its present lunchtime and evening slots.
Bendigo: Country town in Victoria; Joe Scully moved to Bendigo to be with his dying father and help out on the farm. Joe moved up alone whilst Lyn remained behind in Erinsborough with their son Jack. When Lyn headed up to visit Joe, she realised she disliked the town and the farming life in general and didn't want to move there. She then realised that this was actually masking a bigger problem - she was no longer in love with Joe.

Bertha: Clive Gibbons' car, which was passed down through several neighbours over the years.
Births: Despite an abundance of weddings and deaths, Ramsay Street has seen a relatively low number of births over the years. The first was Jamie Clarke, born to Des and Daphne back in 1987. Most recently, Lyn Scully gave birth to Oscar in 2003. Find out more here.

Bishop: Family whose presence in Ramsay Street began in early 1987, when Madge's old flame Harold Bishop moved to Ramsay Street. He was followed by daughter, Kerry and granddaughter, Sky, a couple of years later. Following Harold's disappearance in 1991, and then Madge's departure in 1992, the Bishop name was gone, until they both returned in 1996. Most recently, Harold's son, David, along with his wife, Liljana and daughter, Serena, have moved into the neighbourhood.
Bogan: An Australian slang term, used to describe someone who is, to put it simply, trailer trash. Stingray Timmins and his family quite easily slot into this category.
Bollywood: India's film-making alternative to Hollywood and where Nina Tucker ended up after fleeing Ramsay Street in the wake of revelations about her parents' marriage.
Bombs: Back in 1996, a bomb was planted in Karl Kennedy's surgery by Gary Collins, who felt that Karl's attention towards his son, Pete, was giving him a bad name. In 2001, a home-made bomb went off in a bin on the Erinsborough High sports oval, planted by Flick Scully's stalker, Colin, who thought it would impress her.
Born To Try: The first single released by Delta Goodrem, whose character, Nina Tucker, also used the song to find herself modest fame within the confines of Erinsborough.
Boy4: Boyband that was obsessed over by Michelle Scully, who ended up disappointed when she got to meet them after winning a competition.

Brainbusters: Radio quiz show on which Lance Wilkinson appeared in order to try and win some money to go travelling with girlfriend, Allana Truman. When Lance's appearances proved popular, the makers tried to bribe him by giving him the answers so he'd continue winning, but Lance exposed their scam live on air.
Brain Tumour: A staple storyline of soap operas, Lucy Robinson's strange behaviour and headaches were explained away by a brain tumour, which was quickly removed.
Brisbane: Captial city of the state of Queensland, where several neighbours have ended up. Most famously Scott and Charlene, who began their new life there and settled down. Settled down so well in fact that they didn't want to leave even for Charlene's own mother's funeral. Most of the Ramsay family came from there and returned there when their contracts ran out.
Broome: Town in Western Australia, which has links to several of the neighbours. Guy Carpenter moved there in 1992 to become a swimming instructor, Ruth Wilkinson often went there to visit her parents and, most recently, Valda Sheergold scored a job working as a chef at a resort near Broome.
Builders: Though Erinsborough has been home to many a builder, none were more famous than Doug Willis and his debt-riddled company, Willis Constructions. He employed Beth and many chauvanistic, stereotypical Aussie men to work with her, and finally went bust and was bought by building giants Constructacon. Other noteable builders include Joe Scully and Andrew Mackenzie.

Bush: The bush is the vast countryside which makes up most of Australia, and where many of the neighbours have become lost over the years. After Doug Willis' 'escapade' with Jill Weir, his wife Pam kicked him out and he ended up staggering around looking for a place to die. The same happened to Karl Kennedy after the ever-faithful Susan found out about his fling with his sexy receptionist Sarah. Recently Lou was lost in The Bush, and consequently fell down a ravine and was left fighting for his life. He survived, as usual.
