Reference > A to Z of Neighbours: Letter F

The A to Z of Neighbours is intended to act as an encyclopaedia of everything to do with the show. These are the entries beginning with the letter F. If you feel that we're missing anything, please let us know, either by contacting us or in the relevant thread on the Message Board.

Fake tan: Sharon over-used it once and it ended up melting all over her sister's dress, then Lance decided that it might impress his girlfriend, Amy, if he was tanned - but he ended up turning himself orange!

Families: At the root of Neighbours are the families that have made up the cast since the beginning - from the Ramsays and Robinsons to the Hoylands and Bishops.

Famous: There've been a few bids by characters for fame and fortune, most recently Nina Tucker, whose attempts at a music career led her to Hollywood.

Farm animals: We've seen several horses on Ramsay Street, and number 28 still has Casserole the sheep in their backyard.

Farmer: Joe Scully left Erinsborough for his father's farm in Bendigo.

Fathers: Some of Neighbours' fathers have included Jim Robinson, whose children caused him all manner of headaches, and Karl Kennedy, who was well-known for his strict, but mostly fair, ways.

Fashion: The glamorous world of design and clothes has played a part in Neighbours' history, with Gaby Willis and Danni Stark opening their own fashion boutiques, and several characters have become fashion models, including Jane Harris, Lucy Robinson and Sam Kratz.

Fayres: The tight-knit community in Erinsborough often have community fayres and gatherings for various causes. Most recently, a church fete was the setting for Lyn discovering her brother-in-law, Tom, had arrived in town.

Fences: Many a dispute over the placement of a garden fence has taken place, with the residents of all six Ramsay Street houses being involved in one at some stage.

Fights: Fights are fairly common in Neighbours - although the violence generally has to be toned down due to the timeslot.

Fiji: The tropical paradise where Amy Greenwood went for her honeymoon with Damien.

Fires: Numerous fires have broken out in Ramsay Street and at Lassiter's, including two at number 24 and the famous Millennium fire at the Scully house.

Fire hydrant: Ramsay St once had its own hydrant situated on the nature strip between Nos. 22 and 24. Madge infamously reversed into it when learning to drive and caused a massive water fountain raining down onto the street, soaking Mrs Mangel and Eileen Clarke in the process.

Fitness: Storylines about keeping fit have been a staple of the series for years, including Jim and Des' contest which almost resulted in the latter drowning, and, more recently, Boyd's attempts to get in shape after finding work at a gym.

Flakey the Clown: This failed, alcoholic clown was taken in by Joanna Hartman, as she attempted to help him back onto his feet.

Flashbacks:Characters including Debbie Martin and Susan Kennedy have had flashbacks, which have usually proved to be the turning points in their particular storylines.

Flight attendant: Locals Paul Robinson, Gail Lewis and Amy Greenwood all trained as flight attendants.

Flirting: The residents of Ramsay Street often resort to flirting in order to secure something they want. Izzy's flirting with anything living often causes concern for partner Karl, whilst Paul Robinson is currently playing a similar card with the women of Erinsborough.

Flying machines: The Ramsay Bequest left money to whoever could fly over the Erinsfield River in a man-made flying machine. Much hilarity ensued as most of the locals tried to get a piece of the action.

Fraggin: Slang word used by the Timmins family, mainly Janelle, in place of swear words.

France: Hannah Martin spent several months living out in France in 1998, when she went to stay with exchange student Claire Girard, who had lived with the Bishops in 1997.

Fridge: Generally the first place a neighbour goes to, after they've walked into someone's house without knocking.

Friends: Good neighbours can become good friends, we've heard.
