Reference > A to Z of Neighbours: Letter S

The A to Z of Neighbours is intended to act as an encyclopaedia of everything to do with the show. These are the entries beginning with the letter S. If you feel that we're missing anything, please let us know, either by contacting us or in the relevant thread on the Message Board.

Scarlet Bar: The 2005 incarnation of The Waterhole pub, owned by brother and sister Max and Izzy Hoyland.

Scully: This family includes parents Joe and Lyn and their five children, Steph, Flick, Jack, Michelle and Oscar. They moved into Ramsay Street in 1999, taking over number 26, which had been in the Robinson family in one way or another since the series began.

Sea: This has played a big part in many of the Neighbours' lives including Brad Willis who regularly went surfing, Toadie Rebecchi who lost his wife, Dee Bliss at sea, Madge Bishop who lost her husband at sea only to find him alive and almost well years later in the street they used to live in. The most famous Ramsay Street resident involved with the sea is Marlene Kratz who went on a three month cruise and never returned.

Secretary: Jane Harris, Madge Mitchell, Kate Gibbons, Melanie Pearson, amongst others, all were Paul's secretary at one stage. David Bishop and Sindi Watts have both worked as legal secretaries for Tim Collins & Associates.

Sheep: The Kennedy family have had a pet sheep named Casserole since 1995, when Billy found the young lamb wandering the streets of Erinsborough.

Shepparton: Town in Victoria and home to Darren Stark, Libby Kennedy and Ben Kirk.

Shootings: These have occurred in several Erinsborough landmarks and include Terry shooting Paul at number 30 in 1985 and Cody being shot by drug dealers at the same house in 1996.

Smith: Susan, formerly known as Susan Kennedy, reverted to her maiden name after divorcing Karl. Mother of Malcolm, Libby & Billy aunt to Darcy Tyler.

Smoking: Few Ramsay Street residents have ever been seen smoking and, when they are, the consequences are usually dire. In 1995, Billy Kennedy was caught smoking and forced to light up in front of his parents as punishment, only for it to be discovered that he was asthmatic. Summer Hoyland also succumbed to peer pressure, but didn't enjoy it.

Stairwells of Time: Soap opera which Jen Handley was addicted to in 1995.

Stark: Various members of this family resided in Ramsay Street between 1993 and 1998, including mother Cheryl and her children, Brett, Danni, Darren and Janine.

Strippers: Ramsay Street residents who've had a career in stripping include Daphne, Lucy and Sindi.

Sydney: Capital city of New South Wales, where several neighbours, including Cathy and Benito Alessi and Ben Atkins, moved to. Flick Scully fled there in 2002 when it was revealed that she was in love with her sister's fiance.
