Tampered brakes, explosives and the effects of toxic poisoning, you’d be forgiven for thinking that this was Sunset Beach, but no, it’s Neighbours...

As Sandy floated lifelessly in the pool, Ringo & Rachel, having heard the commotion ran outside and dragged her from the pool and as Lolly administered CPR, Lou returned. As Sandy accused Lolly of assault, Lou questioned her behaviour and was shocked when Lolly admitted that Sandy had been hitting her for years. As Lolly questioned why Sandy was such a good mother to her own kids, but not to her, Sandy admitted that every time she looked at Lolly she saw Cheryl Stark and her husband’s lies and as Lou called John and the department of children’s services, leaving Sandy fighting for her marriage and her children, she left Ramsay Street with her tail between her legs. Later on, Lou admitted to Susan that he wasn’t sure that he was up to being a father to Lolly anymore and that John had suggested that until his separation from Sandy was finalised, he thought it’d be best for Lolly to stay with him. However, Susan told Lou to embrace the chance to be a father to Lolly that he’d been longing for. Meanwhile, Susan was left fighting to get Pepper reinstated, and having convinced the board, asked Pepper to return to Erinsborough High, but Pepper wasn’t sure if she wanted her job back.

Meanwhile, having failed to notice Ringo’s reluctance to jump into the pool to help Sandy earlier in the week, Rachel pushed Ringo into the pool at number 30. As Lolly tried to cover up Ringo’s fear of water, she berated Rachel for not learning anything from the events of the week and as Rachel apologised, tried to help Ringo overcome his hydrophobia. Later on, finding Rachel at The General Store, Ringo explained that when he was younger, he was nearly killed by a jet ski as he was learning to swim and had been scared of water since. As Rachel tried to help Ringo overcome his hydrophobia, the pair kissed, but Ringo got a little too carried away in the moment, leaving Rachel running out of the door.

As Pepper suspected that Rosetta was a sesbian rather than a lesbian, she set out to prove it by standing in front of her in her underwear whilst monitoring her heart rate, and as she got Frazer to do the same, Rosetta’s heart rate increased rapidly, proving her right. However, as a half-naked Frazer found himself locked out of his house, he sought refuge in Scarlet Bar, but as he offered Janae advice on fixing a wine rack, ended up out cold on the floor after she accidentally hit him on the head again, this time with a wrench.

Having collected her car from the garage, Glenn spotted Boyd walking in the park and offered him a lift home. With Glenn still unacquainted with the neighbourhood, Boyd offered to drive, however as he went through a stop sign it became clear that something was majorly wrong with the car, he couldn’t brake. As the car eventually skidded to a halt, Glenn lost consciousness, leaving Boyd calling an ambulance. Janae was immediately under suspicion and annoyed that few people believed her story. However, as Lolly learnt about the accident and that it was a similar car to Sandy’s, she admitted to Lou and Steiger that she was to blame. Lolly was surprised at how supportive and understanding everyone was being, with Steiger offering to help her find a counsellor. Annoyed with Boyd for suspecting her, and for being in the car with Glenn in the first place, Janae gave Boyd two weeks to sort himself out, to do whatever he wanted with whoever he wanted, but then he’d have to decide if Janae was really what he wanted. Whilst Janae was convinced that Boyd wouldn’t do anything, Boyd soon found himself at Glenn’s door and locking lips with her.

Susan told Pepper & Rosetta not to take their friendship for granted as a true friendship, like she had with Lyn, was hard to find and was touched when Pepper & Rosetta invited her to join in their girly gossip night. Susan admitted to them that since Karl had given up medicine he had lost the alpha male thing she found so attractive about him. Meanwhile, Zeke overheard Karl on the phone and became convinced that he was having an affair, especially after he lied to Susan about it. As Zeke confronted Karl about it, Karl asked him to find Rachel as he needed to speak to them both. As Rachel & Zeke tried to convince Karl not to throw away what he has with Susan, a confused Karl asked them for permission to propose to Susan on the upcoming London trip, to which they happily agreed.

Sky, Harold and the Timmins’ breathed a sigh of relief as both Dylan & Stingray proved to be suitable bone marrow donor candidates for Kerry, however they were shocked to learn that Dylan’s exposure to toxic waste at the Wetlands made him unsuitable and that it could well have been the cause of Kerry’s leukaemia. Sky worried about the risk to Stingray, but he assured her that he’d be fine, whilst Dylan headed straight around to Lassiter’s and took revenge on Paul for his actions. As Sky prepared herself for a battle as her boss called her in to explain her absence from work, she was stunned when he was completely supportive over the whole matter.

As her car was repossessed, Janelle was felt left with little choice but to sell Lassiter’s, however Allan offered to help her out so that she didn’t have to give in to Paul and she took great pleasure in tearing up the contract and shoving Paul’s check into his mouth.

Ned impressed his friends with his new abode, which he lied about, saying he payed for after winning big on the horses. Ned repayed his debts to his friends and impressed with his new look, Elle agreed to a date to go shopping with him. The date ended up back at Ned’s apartment and the pair agreed to a ‘one off’, however, Elle left her head scarf behind. As Paul became obsessed with ‘Doom Slayer’ on Ned’s console, he was nearly caught by Toadie who arrived looking for his wallet. As he hid in Ned’s bed, Toadie hilariously assumed that Ned had copped off the night before, not realising just who was under the duvet.

Carmella & Oliver were annoyed to find that half their fruit and veg order was missing, and soon realised that Carmella’s Uncle Ray was responsible. After buying off the supplier, they managed to complete their orders, but were devastated when the van was been broken into and the takings were stolen, but it was clear who was responsible. As Oliver borrowed a van from one of the staff at Scarlet Bar to use until theirs was fixed, Carmella was determined to get back at Ray and as she chucked a rock through Ray’s window, Oliver expressed his disapproval and told her that if she wanted to play things like that, he’d have to walk away. Meanwhile, Paul told Elle to act as ‘Uncle Ray’ to drive a wedge between the couple, but as her plan to fake an extra order for The General Store backfired when Lou & Harold were impressed with the produce, Paul planned to get his ‘creature’, Ned to follow Oliver & Carmella, however Elle suggested that it was time they got their own hands dirty, and the job done properly as well. Whilst out on deliveries, Oliver & Carmella ran out of petrol and as they headed off to find fuel, Paul & Elle planted explosives on their van. As Elle gleefully pressed the ignition button, nothing happened and as Paul went to see what had happened, Carmella & Oliver returned. Managing to stay out of sight, Paul walked back towards Elle, but as Carmella & Oliver opened the door of the van, it exploded, with them right next to it.
