A couple of new faces seemed destined to bring trouble for the good people of Ramsay Street, while the return of an old face proved to be a big shock for Susan…

Sky continued to be sucked into the world of spiritualist Terrence Chesterton this week and attempted to convince Bree and Rachel that they too could talk to Stingray. Without asking Susan and Janelle, Bree and Rachel then went along to the meeting with Terrence, only for their parents to turn up and call a halt to it, having been told by Harold what was going on. Terrence later turned up at the Bishop house, and again managed to convince a sceptical Harold that he was talking to Stingray, along with Kerry and Madge. Later, Sky told Terrence about the premonitions she’d had about Stingray disappearing and his name appearing on her mum’s memorial. Terrence told her that she had a gift and suggested that she would be able to use it to help people and to make money if she wanted to, but not to discuss it with anyone else, as they wouldn’t understand. Meanwhile, at the surgery, another new face was apparently helping the people of Erinsborough. Having broken in to one of the doctors’ offices at the hospital the night before and stolen some medical certificates and a paperweight, Dr Charlotte Stone turned up at Karl’s old office. She hung up the stolen certificates – with a name change – and set about helping Carmella overcome her depression and sleep deprivation, and helped Paul to deal with his vision and hearing problems with some massage. She also employed Boyd as her part-time receptionist and it wasn’t long before she was “testing” him, presenting him with Carmella’s symptoms and asking what sort of medications he would prescribe.

After receiving a creepy invitation to a children’s party, left on the doorstep attached to an inflatable clown, Pepper told her dad about the latest “gift” from her stalker and he wired her up and arranged to watch her as she attended the party in the park. Pepper was then approached by a little girl named Jessica, who gave Pepper a gift, which had been given to her by someone dressed as a clown. The parcel contained a love letter that Pepper had written to her high school boyfriend Kevin Casey, confirming her fears that he was the stalker. And, back home, Pepper and her dad were alarmed to hear a baby crying inside the house, only to find a bassinette with a tape recorder under the blanket. Increasingly worried about what Kevin might do next, Pepper started looking at old photos, hoping to find answers, and remembered Kevin’s mum, Mary. Steiger and Pepper went to visit her and, although she acted oddly at first and wouldn’t let them inside the house, she offered them tea in the garden. As Steiger later wandered around the large garden and spotted ‘KC + PS 4 EVER’ scratched into a tree, then crossed out, Mary admitted to Pepper that she’d lied to her and the police, claiming that she hadn’t seen Kevin in years. She explained that her son had been visiting but his behaviour had been very agitated and unusual and she had no idea where he’d gone. Following the visit, Mary picked up the phone to tell the police something about her son but, midway through the call, she changed her mind and hung up.

As she waited for news of both Karl and her application to become the new high school principal, Susan’s nerves were on edge. And things only got worse as Karl finally called but didn’t really want to talk to her about the situation in London. A knock at the door brought a further shock when Susan found ex-boyfriend Tom Scully standing in front of her, having got his life back together and wanted to give things another try. Susan quickly explained that she’d been married, widowed and married again since then and was happy again with Karl, much to Tom’s horror, who announced that she should never have taken him back after the pain her caused her. Yet more surprises were in store when Susan met Tom at the bar later that day and he explained that he hadn’t just come back to Erinsborough to see her – he was the new high school principal. Susan was appalled that man who’d only taught for a couple of years in the 80s, then again upon his return to Bendigo in 2004, had been given the job over her, but she quickly calmed down and was left in shock as Tom told her that he’d only really accepted the job so he could be close to her again. Although Susan insisted that everything was fine when Rachel and Zeke became worried, another call from Karl, explaining that Pete had to go overseas to play football and so he’d been staying on with Izzy in London for a couple more weeks, left her confused about her feelings.

Rosie continued her quest to find any way to get close to an unresponsive Frazer, even going as far as forging his signature so that she could go ahead with her plan to sue the owners of the racetrack. After finding this out from Toadie, Frazer angrily told Rosie to stop interfering in his life, as he had enough to deal with already but, unable to hide her feelings any more, she blurted out that she loved him. When Frazer accused her of only wanting him back because he was paralyzed, she told him that his constant self-pity was the only thing holding him back. That little speech was enough to snap Frazer out of his depression and, the next day, he went to his hydrotherapy session at the pool, before apologising to Rosie and telling her that, although he did need her in his life, it was just as a friend – for now. Meanwhile, Boyd was desperate to win Janae back, despite hitting a brick wall whenever he spoke to her. Janae was also troubled by constant thoughts of Boyd cheating on her again, and she turned to Susan for advice. Afterwards, and following a good long cry, Janae agreed to have dinner with Boyd and was touched when he left a gift on her doorstep, though Janelle and Bree weren’t quite so keen on the possible reunion. That evening, Boyd cleared out the bar and set up a candlelit dinner in the office, but was upset when Janae broke the news to him that she didn’t think she could ever trust him, or take him back. Angry, frustrated and disappointed, Boyd asked Janae why she’d led him on for so long but she just wanted to get away from him, and the marriage, as quickly as possible. However, as she went to leave the office, Boyd stopped her, reminded her that she was still his wife and said that she wasn’t going anywhere…

Also, the path of true love was anything but smooth for Rachel and Ringo, as Lolly stuck her oar in at every opportunity. Desperate to try and patch things up with Rachel, Ringo asked Lolly to pass a message on to her, arranging to meet at his tent that evening. But when Lolly went to deliver the message, she heard Susan and Rachel arguing, and realised that it was the perfect excuse to accidentally forget to let her love rival know. A few days later, an annoyed Ringo told Rachel that he was upset when she didn’t turn up, as he’d waited all night, and Rachel quickly worked out that Lolly had deliberately neglected to tell her. She pointed out to Ringo that Lolly obviously had a crush on him, so Ringo confronted her and Lolly denied it, insisting that it had just been an honest mistake and she was more keen than anyone to see her two friends back together. Rachel wasn’t convinced and later confronted Lolly, who weakly insisted that she just wanted to be Ringo’s mate. Though Rachel was finally satisfied, as she left, Lolly’s face told a different story.

Finally this week, Oliver was caught between Elle and Carmella, as the former tried to help him to get his inheritance and the he saved the life of the latter, as she fell asleep on a lounger and slid into the pool. And, as Oliver was finally offered the chance by Alan Napier to get his hands on his money, Alan collapsed from a heart attack but, before passing out, he told Oliver that there was a big family secret that he should know about. And Abby overheard Toadie admitting to Rosie that he wasn’t over Steph. Confused about her boyfriend’s commitment, Abby then lied to Toadie that she needed money to cover one of Zoe’s dental bills, and was seemingly satisfied when he wrote her out a cheque.
