How long have you been watching Neighbours?
The first time I watched neighbours, I was about four. I have been watching it ever since. I can't say I remember much from when I was four but from about the age of 6 I began to understand it and then, I was hooked!
Why did you start watching the show?
I started watching because my Mum always did. I thought it was the
'cool' and grown up thing to do. Mum would always sit down at tea time and so I
would sit with her. Afterwards, Mum would explain if there was a bit that I
hadn't understood.
Who are your favourite characters and why?
I have had a lot of favourite characters over the years! Currently,
my favourite is Sky becasue I love her 'difference' and I think that she
has so much depth. In the past, my favourite characters have included Tess,
Elly, Tahnee, Billy, Hannah, Tad, Felicity
and Michelle. My friends joke that I like all the stuck-up characters (note Elly,
Tahnee, Hannah, Flick and Michelle!)

What are your favourite storylines and why?
My favourite storyline is so easy to choose. Its the Lana-Sky
storyline. I thought that the whole thing was amazingly written and
acted (even by Neighbours' high standards!) by two of the most fabulous and
talented actresses. The whole story was amazing and it really made me think
twice about society and its views and values.
Have you ever visited the sets, street or a Neighbours Night?
I have never been lucky enough to visit the sets of Neighbours but,
give me a chance!! I am hoping to go sometime next January if everything goes to plan! Fingers crossed!
What merchandise from the series do you own?
Asking me about Neighbours merchandise that I own is a bad
idea. If you want the list, then it goes as follows: The Neighbours wedding collection video, The Neighbours Scott and Charlene love story video, The Neighbours Defining moments DVD, The Neighbours Scott and Charlene wedding music record, The Christmas with your Neighbours record, The Neighbous theme tune record. Every last bit of my money is spent on Neighbours memorabilia and my bedroom displays it all! I have also been quite lucky in collecting autographs from the cast. I have personalised fan cards signed from Stephen Lovatt, Carla Bonner, Kyal Marsh, Marisa Siketa, Stephanie McIntosh, Marcella Russo, Tom Oliver, Ian Smith, Ben Nicholas, Alan Fletcher and Bridget Neval. Again, my room displays them all! People visit and think I am mad!! Most of my friends watch Neighbours which I guess is a good thing since I go on about it so much! However, none of them have any out-of-watching interests. Some of them laugh at me but most of them are cool about it and wish that they had autographs from the cast.
What are your thoughts on Neighbours turning 20 this year? Why do
you
think the show has lasted so long?
The fact that Neighbours is reaching 20 years this year is so amazing. It is a real achievement and because I have been following the production of it for so long, I feel proud for everyone at Grundy! I'm not sure
how to explain what I think the secret to Neighbours' success is but I guess we could say that it has that viewing factor that other shows just dont have! Here's to another 20 years!!
