How long have you been watching Neighbours?
I've been watching Neighbours since the end of 1996. That's basically since I was like 8 years old.
Why did you start watching the show?
I started watching Neighbours because when I was little my mum used to watch it so I grew up watching it with her. Neighbours is a very big part in Australian culture so that probably also contributed to my watching habits.
Who are your favourite characters and why?
My favourite characters are Summer and Sky. I like Sky because she isn't afraid to be an individual and stand out from the crowd. I like Summer because she used to be such an annoying kid but in the last year or so she has matured into a sweet and intelligent girl.
What are your favourite storylines and why?
My favourite storyline was the Karl, Izzy and Susan love triangle because I found it quite amusing.
Have you ever visited the sets, street or a Neighbours Night?
I visited Pin Oak Court in 2002 while I was in Melbourne with my family. It was really cool because as soon as we got to the street my sisters and I recognised it as Ramsay Street. We met these backpackers from England while we were there and we were all sitting on the grass in front of the Scully house and talking about Neighbours which was very cool. Unfortunately none of the cast were there when I was there, because I went during the Australian Summer break.
What merchandise from the series do you own?
I own Neighbours: The Music CD which I got for my birthday. I also own the Neighbours: Defining Moments DVD which my Dad bought for me.
What are your thoughts on Neighbours turning 20 this year? Why do
you
think the show has lasted so long?
I think it's great that Neighbours has turned 20 this year. I thought it was awesome that it got inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Logies for its important milestone. I think that the show has lasted so long because it is the type of programme that appeals to all ages. You learn to laugh and cry with the characters. Not many tv shows can do that. If Neighbours carries on the way it is I don't see why they can't make it to another 20 years.
