Between February and June 2013, we asked you to vote for your favourite Neighbours characters from the last decade,
to mark Perfect Blend's tenth birthday. The votes have now been tallied, and below are the characters who came in places 6 to 5.

- Libby Kennedy (651 Points)
|
It seems only right that Libby follows Steph as despite their ups and downs, they were one of the strongest friendships Neighbours has ever seen. No doubt aided by the real-life friendship between Kym Valentine and Carla Bonner, we watched Libby and Steph share their loves, laughs and losses, whilst both remaining strong characters in their own right. Libby actually spent much of the past decade off-screen, with Kym Valentine taking maternity leave in late 2003/early 2004, before departing later that year. Then following a brief appearance in the 20th Anniversary documentary in 2005, returned to the regular cast in 2007 as part of the 'Back to Basics' revamp, remaining on and off until 2011, but still Libby remains popular with fans, many of whom having grown up with her as she went from teenager to teacher. In the past decade we've seen Libby reunite with Darren Stark, seemingly getting a happy ending, before returning to Erinsborough and breaking up with him after he cheated, twice; we've then seen her marry for the second time and face the grief of losing two babies and also the betrayal of a best friend and a surrogate brother, at least in her eyes. Libby is the kind of characters with whom many viewers connect with, laughing as she laughs and crying when she cries and cheering as her life seems to get back on track. Of course, Libby's strongest relationship will always be with her parents, who to Libby have been her biggest enemies - at least as a teenager, but also her biggest allies and friends over the years, as parents should be. We have seen Libby become her mother's best friend, particularly as Susan went through her divorce from Karl, but also we have seen a mutual respect blossom between Libby and Karl, both as stubborn as each other, and not always agreeing with the other's choices, but always there for their family when in need. We can only hope that one day we will see Libby return to Erinsborough again, or at least that we are given news that she is happily married with lots of step-kids who can keep turning up on the Kennedy doorstep for years to come, along with Ben, but until then let's just celebrate that Libby has rightfully claimed her place in the top 10.

- Harold Bishop (848 Points)
|
A huge jump of almost two hundred points now as we move onto our 5th placed Neighbour, Harold Bishop. The first year of Perfect Blend saw widower Harold revitalised as he was joined at Number 24 by son David, daughter-in-law Liljana and granddaughters Sky and Serena, a happiness almost short by Harold suffering a stroke at the end of the year. Thankfully Harold survived death yet again, but the same couldn't be said for his family, with David dying following the explosion on the Lassiter's joyflight in 2005 with Liljana and Serena following in Harold's footsteps, being lost at sea, presumed dead. The unpopular decision led to Harold attempting to kill Paul Robinson, for whom he blamed for causing great sadness to his son prior to his death, having had an affair with Liljana. Thankfully Harold's moment of madness was quickly swept under the carpet and we went on to see Harold become a great-grandfather to Sky's daughter Kerry. Whilst Harold departed the street in 2008, he popped back for semi-regular visits until 2009, when he battled cancer before departing to be near Sky as she prepared to become a mother for the second time. With Harold having returned in 2011 and married again to Carolyn, the Bishop family seems to have gradually been rebuilt and is probably safest off-screen if Harold's past is anything to go by; however Harold's name lives on with through the magical Harold's Store which stocks every item imaginable alongside a coffee shop with full menu and dry cleaning services. It still doesn't seem quite right without Harold behind the counter though. And, of course,
his legacy also lives on with the Ramsay Street History book, which has given opportunities for plenty of trips down memory lane in the last few years - and is responsible for Toadie's daughter being named after Mrs Mangel!
