Magic Moments > 2003 > The 2003 Season Finale Episode 4395

Written by Katrina Foster, Directed by Gary Conway

Chris tells Serena that her photos were great, then he kisses her, leaving her uncomfortable. Lyn, Valda and Izzy watch as Susan leaves in a taxi.

At number 32, Lyn and Valda are complimenting Steph on the spread for Christmas Day. Lyn explains that she has a big day tomorrow, helping Trixie with her hair for the wedding, so they should get going. Valda is none-too-impressed at the mention of Trixie, but Lyn tells her to calm down. Valda mentions that she’s been invited to the wedding, but isn’t sure whether she’ll go. Lyn and Valda leave, and the Hoylands are relieved that they’ve all managed to survive the entire day intact.

....

Over at number 22, Lou is warning Harold that everyone has to be in places tomorrow on time, because if Trixie notices anything untoward, it’ll blow the whole surprise. Harold seems very distracted and is taking tablets for a headache, but mentions that it’s down to all of Liljana’s cooking. Karl arrives at the door, and explains that he didn’t go to Adelaide with Susan, so will still be coming to the wedding. He says that he has a patient who needs him, so he had to stay at home. Karl leaves, and Harold thinks the situation is a bit odd. Lou starts to talk about the wedding, when Trixie appears and he shuts up. She sits with Harold, and thanks him for being such a good friend to Lou. She wants to know what Lou is keeping from her, but Harold doesn’t know what to say…

Sky arrives at number 32 to exchange gifts with Boyd, and they’re surprised that they’ve got each other the same thing – engraved dog tags. They’re both delighted with their synchronicity and share a kiss.

....

The next morning, Trixie is getting ready at number 22, but can’t find her brooch. She thinks it’s a sign that it’ll all go wrong and Lyn helps her look. Meanwhile, at the pub, Harold and Connor are helping Lou, who is convinced that he’s too old to be doing this. Trixie is saying the same things, as Lyn tries to reassure her. Harold continues to assure Lou, while Trixie is relieved to finally find her brooch. Harold reminds Lou how lucky he is to have someone by his side, and he can’t let go of this chance. He says that he would go through everything he went through with Madge all over again, and Lou is convinced.

....

Connor helps Trixie get into the limo outside number 22, then she starts to cry. He tells her not to, as it’ll ruin her make-up. She says that she’ll be fine, as she learnt in the theatre how to cry on cue. They drive out of Ramsay Street…

....

....

....

They enter the theatre and the curtain goes up on the stage as the band begins to play. Trixie is shocked, as everyone stands up and starts clapping. Lou and Trixie say hi to everyone as they walk down towards the stage. Valda is very unimpressed with everything that’s going on. Lou and Trixie get up onto the stage, and the celebrant begins.

....

....

....

Lou and Trixie both take their vows, as everyone watches. Izzy looks over at a sombre Karl, while Valda also looks sad. Carmella shares a glance with Connor, while Harold takes photos. When the celebrant asks if anyone has any objections, Valda suddenly stands up and announces that the whole wedding is a sham and that Lou is far too good for Trixie. Lyn quickly takes her mother outside, while Trixie stands on stage, horrified. Everyone composes themselves again, and Lou says that it wouldn’t be a showbiz wedding without a bit of drama. Lou and Trixie are then pronounced husband and wife. They kiss, and everyone stands up to applaud. They are then joined on stage by all of their friends and family.

....

....

At number 26, Valda is packing to leave, horrified at the way she behaved. Lyn says that people are probably grateful, as the wedding would have carried on all night. She tried to convince Valda to stay, but she says that the only way to deal with things is to get away.

Sky and Boyd arrive back at number 24, and Serena’s phone starts ringing. Sky answers to Chris, who realises who he’s talking to. She tries to hang up, but he says he’d like to do a double feature with them, which she says would be a bad idea. Sky mentions Chris picking up Serena, and he’s surprised that she knows about it. Sky then hangs up and Serena appears from the bedroom, horrified that Sky has been going through her stuff. Sky asks Boyd to leave for a while, and then confronts Serena about spending the night with Chris. Sky realises that Chris doesn’t know that she’s only 15, and says that he’s only using her for one thing. Serena walks out, saying that she’d take Chris over Boyd anyday. Sky threatens to tell Lil and David, but Serena reminds her that she would never do that, as they’re like sisters.

....

At the reception in the pub, Harold is taking photos, and Lou receives telegrams from all of his kids. He thanks Connor for all of his help. Rocco then starts to talk to Connor, who gets very uncomfortable and quickly runs off. Rocco says that he has to go, as he has business to do, but Carmella will be staying. As soon as Rocco leaves, Connor starts chatting to Carmella, but they look worried as Harold takes a photo of them. Izzy arrives at the pub, with the Hoylands. Steph asks Karl why Susan isn’t here, but he brushes it off, saying that he had a patient. Harold goes out to get some fresh air and some more film. Karl asks for a word with Izzy, and asks if she’s avoiding him. She says that their relationship is a little confused, and the boundaries have changes since his marriage got in trouble. He realises that she’s blaming herself for the problems, and he tells her that it has nothing to do with her.

Serena arrives to meet Chris, and explains the problems with Sky. Chris tells her that they have something special together. He opens the door for her and she gets into his car, as he promises her that this is going to be the most amazing night of her life.

....

A fax arrives at the pub in the office and Connor reads it as Carmella comes in. She says that she’s glad that they’re friends, and he reads out the fax, saying what an inspiration Lou and Trixie are. Connor realises that Carmella is coming on to him, and finally tells her that he doesn’t care what her father says, as he really likes her too. They share a passionate kiss.

....

Harold moves his car in the car park and feels unwell as he gets out. He retrieves the camera and films from the back seat, then suddenly drops them and collapses on the ground…
