Daniel and Imogen are trapped down an old well... Amber bravely tells her wedding guests that the groom has had a change of heart... Josh shows up at the bridal suite to comfort Amber...
Naomi describes herself as Mark’s girlfriend, which seems to make him happy... Paul assures Nick the council will rent him the building next to the hospital for his research centre... On learning of Harold’s pining for Madge,
Susan suggests that he needs to live in the here and now...
Inside number 30, Lou and Harold are playing poker for jelly beans. Noticing that Haorld's distracted, Lou suggests that the loser should streak around Ramsay Street in their underwear - Harold agrees that it's a good idea. “Oi! Snap out
of it! You can’t blame yourself for what happened,” says Lou. Harold sighs and tells Lou that he’s not just worried about Daniel, Amber and Imogen. He relates what Susan said to him about living in the present, but Harold thinks that it’s hard when he doesn’t
know what’s on the horizon. Lou then gets a text from Sky, saying she’s been trying to ring Harold but his phone's off. Lou tells Harold that Sky is planning to video-call him in ten minutes.

Daniel and Imogen are still huddled together for warmth down in the well. Daniel is keen to keep Imogen talking, so he asks her to tell him something he doesn’t know about her. She’s
not in the mood for it, tearfully telling him they might die down here, but Daniel insists they need to keep talking to keep their minds off it. Imogen says to Daniel “Okay. When I was a kid, I used to think that the moon was made out of marshmallows.” Daniel laughs
and asks Imogen if that is all she’s got. They laugh, but Daniel tells her he was hoping for something a little more ‘real’. “What? Like, the fact that you’re the first thing that I think about when I wake up in the morning, and the last thing on my mind before I go
to sleep at night?” comes Imogen’s reply. Daniel remains silent, and Imogen apologises - he reassures her that it’s OK. However, Imogen disagrees and tells Daniel that falling in love with him is the dumbest, saddest thing she’s ever done and now Amber hates
her. Imogen admits that she hates herself too, adding that she can’t stop loving him, despite trying very hard. Daniel tells Imogen that he doesn’t blame her for how she feels - she can’t help who she falls in love with, it just happens. Having talked
it through, their minds return to their current dilemma.
In the bridal suite at Lassiter's, Amber asks Josh if he knew that Imogen was in love with Daniel. He admits he did, but doesn’t think anything’s been going on between them; it’s all one-sided on Imogen’s part. A tearful Amber is beating herself up for not realising
sooner and says to Josh, “I feel so stupid – how could I not know? She’s my best friend, was my best friend.” Amber tells Josh she needs to sleep as her eyes are hurting, so Josh decides to leave, promising to come back and check up on her later. He wraps her in the blanket and leaves,
but Amber opens her eyes again sadly.

At Harold’s Store, Paul casually tells Nick that the council has denied his application for the research centre, despite having made assurances recently. Paul tells a flabbergasted Nick
that a developer has put in a tender on the building. Nick quite sternly reminds Paul that they had agreed he could have it, but Paul tells him there was nothing in writing. Nick, becoming quite angry, says to Paul, “That was a gentleman’s agreement. But quite clearly
the only gentleman making that agreement was me!” Paul informs Nick that the other offer for the building was very attractive to the council, and Nick accuses him of having taken a ‘kick-back’ to give the building to someone else. Paul tells Nick that’s a serious
allegation, but Nick thinks his lack of a denial tells him everything he needs to know! Nick says to Paul, “I won’t forget this.”
At Erinsborough Hospital, Nick moans about the situation to Karl, accusing Paul of putting profit before human life. He informs Karl that he’s thinking of suing Paul and the council, and is certain that the developer bribed Paul. When Nick suggests the doctors should
launch a public campaign to make Paul change his mind, Karl suggests he talk to Georgia about it, to develop a strategy. Nick says to Karl: “The only thing Nurse Brooks is good for is cleaning up patient vomit.” Karl, taken aback, wtells him
that was very harsh but Nick reminds Karl that he’s here trying to get on with life-saving research, he doesn’t have time for social niceties. Karl informs him that his research centre plans could take even longer if he keeps rubbing people up the wrong way! Karl also
mentions to Nick that Paul only does what’s in his own interests and if it will benefit him. “What, and trying to find a cure for cancer isn’t good enough for him?!” Nick declares. Karl has to go, but Nick has taken his words to heart. He sees a poster of Georgia on
the wall for the blood donation campaign, and an idea begins to develop in his head…

Harold is at his laptop at number 30, with Lou sitting next to him, awaiting Sky’s video-call. Sure enough, she appears on the screen! Sky firstly tells Harold that he is the hardest man
to track down and jokingly mentions that she almost had to hire a private detective. Harold laughs and tells Sky that he keeps forgetting to charge his phone. He's keen to hear the news that Sky has for him. She confirms everything’s fine with the pregnancy, she’s
just a few weeks away from her due date, but admits she’s a bit overwhelmed by it all. Sky says to Harold, “Which is why, Grandad, I’ve been trying to hunt you down. How would you feel about giving up your gypsy life and coming to live with us? It was the best having you
here when Scotty Junior was born, and it just made things so much easier...” Harold reminds Sky that he was a much younger man when Scotty was born. However, Sky persists and tells Harold that it would be great to have him there to talk to. Just then, Harold's interest is
piqued when Sky mentions Madge. She begins to tell Harold that she had a dream the previous night and Madge appeared, she was bullying her into calling him, and telling her that he would be able to help. Sky admits that it sounds
silly and stupid, but Harold disagrees and asks Sky how soon she wants him there. “Are you serious?! As soon as you can come!” Sky replies happily. Harold is very emotional, evidently believing that Madge has kept her promise to find him something to fill his life
with. Sky’s overwhelmed with happiness that Harold’s going to come, and calls for a ‘group hug’ with him and Lou, which they clumsily try to provide over the webcam!
Josh comes back to the bridal suite with a chicken burger for Amber. Amber, however, tells Josh that she’s not hungry, and he proceeds to sit on the bed with her. Amber says to Josh, “You know, deep down I was afraid that Daniel didn’t really love me as much as I loved
him. No-one ever loves me as much as I love them.” “That’s not true! I know I took you for granted, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t love you like crazy. I just didn’t know what I had until it was gone. Don’t ever blame yourself. You’re amazing – best thing that ever
happened to me.” is Josh’s heartfelt reply. This just makes Amber cry, so Josh leans over to comfort her. She grabs his arm and starts sobbing, forcing him to lie down and hug her.
..
At The Waterhole, Chris is worried that Amber isn’t replying to his texts and whinges to Naomi about it. Naomi is worried about Imogen and Daniel, commenting that the ‘poor things will be
crucified’ when they come back. Chris gets all judgmental, suggesting that they deserve everything they get. Naomi reminds him they don’t even know for sure yet whether they’ve run off together. Mark and Nate are sitting there too, Mark chips in and agrees with Naomi that
there might be more to the situation than meets the eye, but when Nate mentions that he can’t voice an opinion as he doesn’t really know any of those involved, Chris gets all judgmental with him as well, and they have a full-blown row while Mark and Naomi look awkward.
Nate goes to the bar and Chris follows him, leaving Naomi and Mark surprised at the argument that came from nowhere. Mark jokes that it must be bad when he and Naomi are the most stable couple at the table!
An exhausted Daniel and Imogen are trying to hoist their way up the walls of the well, but aren’t having any success. Imogen asks Daniel if he had never met Amber and it had just been her would he... Daniel stops Imogen and tells her she’s awesome and he loves spending
time with her but doesn’t see her that way. Imogen says to Daniel, “I’m just gonna go hide under that rock now...” As Imogen shifts about, she stumbles upon something. Holding it up to the light, she realises it’s none other than Agnes’s pearl ring! She hands it to
Daniel.

On Ramsay Street, Harold and Madge are on the driveway to number 24, looking fondly up at their old home. Madge holds Harold’s hand and looks emotional. “You’re not coming with me, are you?”
Harold says to his beloved Madge. “No. You’ve still got a lot of living to do. But if you want somebody around to yell at you twenty-four-seven, I’ll be there,” Madge replies and they kiss. Toadie shouts over, asking Harold if he’s okay. Harold confirms he is, then walks
over to join Toadie, Lou, Karl and Susan in the middle of the street. Lou informs ‘Jelly Belly’ that he better get a move on and Karl tells him that he needs to stay longer next time as they’ve loved having him around. Harold tells Karl that he’ll see what he can do.
Susan then hugs Harold and tells him to keep in touch and to let them know about Sky’s new baby - he agrees to email. Lou and Harold hug; then Harold hugs Toadie, telling him to say hello to Sonya and Callum, and thanks him for his support.
Karl and Toadie both mention that they are both heading to the airport shortly, Toadie to see Sonya and Callum, and Karl to go to London. Susan hugs an emotional Harold again and says to him, “You be happy, okay?” Harold nods and with one last wave, he gets back in the
motorhome and drives away. As he leaves, Madge waves from the drive of number 24, and blows him a kiss, before vanishing into nothingness outside number 24. Harold smiles fondly and drives away, as all the others wave.
At the hospital, Nick is at the computer, listing various statistics. He proceeds to delete the word ‘normal’ and replace it with ‘abnormal’. He saves the file and leaves the office. Out in the ward, Susan is waiting for Karl to sort out some admin before she
drives him to the airport, when Nick comes over to the reception. The Kennedys are sympathetic about the collapse of his plans for his cancer research centre. Nick, however, insists the council might still change their mind. “Do I sense a campaign in the works?” Susan
says. “Well, let’s just say I can be pretty persuasive when I put my mind to it,” is Nick’s reply. Karl chips in: “Don’t mess with oncologists, Susan. They’re street-fighters, the lot of them.” They say goodbye to Nick, who takes off his badge and
looks troubled.

Down the well, Daniel has made a rope from garments and is trying to fling it up towards the grate, but with no success. Imogen is having trouble breathing; she explains she had asthma as
a child, and that it seems to be returning because of the damp. Imogen insists she’ll be fine, but her breathing is very strained. Daniel looks worried.
Nick arrives at the penthouse to talk to Paul. Paul insists he can’t change the decision about the cancer research centre, but Nick tells Paul that he’s not here about that, he has some ‘unusual’ results from the routine blood screening on the sample that Paul donated
in the recent drive. “What do you mean by unusual?” Paul says to Nick. “Some abnormalities,” Nick replies. Paul asks Nick what he means, and Nick explains that he thought it might be a mistake, but he double-checked the sample again himself and got the same results.
Nick says that they had better go and sit down, and Paul starts to look worried.
..
Shortly afterwards, Paul takes a seat on the sofa and says to Nick, “Well come on, let’s get down to brass tacks here. What exactly are we talking about?” Nick tells him that he has an
abnormally high white blood cell count and it points to one thing - leukaemia. “Am I gonna die?” asks Paul. “I can’t lie, it’s a possibility,” is Nick’s reply. Paul looks stunned.

Comment
It’s been lovely having Madge and Harold back on Neighbours; I just loved the last shot of Madge - blowing a kiss, waving and fading into nothingness, there was something so right that
the final shot we’ll probably see of Madge is outside of number 24. It was sad, touching and lovely too. That should have been the Australian 30th anniversary episode it had everything Neighbours does so well - drama, comedy and sadness woven together beautifully.
