Toadie that she is developing feelings for Ned again... Hendrix tries to talk to Pierce about his crush on Chloe... Jimmy wants his mum to come and live in
New York with him... Kyle is willing to sacrifice his life in Erinsborough to move to New York with Amy... Sheila gives Amy some advice on her and Kyle...
Amy tells Kyle that things are over between them...
At no. 30, Kirsha receives a hearty welcome having arrived home to see in the New Year with her family, as well as to help Hugo celebrate his birthday.
Toadie suggests that Shane and Dipi should go out to see the New Year in, as he has a night lined up with the kids at home. He mentions that Nell is
particularly excited to stay up late to see the fireworks and eat pizza and ice cream.
..

In contrast to the happy events at no. 30 there is a more sombre atmosphere at no. 32, as a visibly upset Kyle tries to hold back the tears by watching
the cricket. He is interrupted by Toadie, who admits that he wanted to check in to see how things went with Amy. Kyle reveals to Toadie that not only is
Amy is moving to New York without him but that they have broken up due to the impracticalities of a long-distance relationship. Aware of how upset his
friend is, Toadie tries his best to comfort a distraught Kyle.
Meanwhile, at Lassiters, Pierce is struggling to convince Hendrix to join the bike club. They are interrupted by Yashvi, who wants to know what the drinks
arrangements are for the New Year's Eve party that Pierce is hosting at the Waterhole. Hendrix jokes about Yashvi's previous issues with alcohol and she
tries to downplay her unfortunate incident from last New Year by insisting that it was only one slip up. She promptly changes the subject by asking Hendrix
if he has a smart outfit that he needs to purchase for the party, but he confirms to Yashvi that he won't be attending as he likes a party with an 'exclusive
guest list'. After a little bit more banter between the two of them Pierce interjects by confirming to Yashvi that there will be enough drinks on offer to
keep her happy, and she leaves. After the awkward recent events with Chloe, Pierce tries to change Hendrix's mind about attending the celebrations
by insisting that a fresh start in the new year is exactly what he needs, but Hendrix accuses Pierce of being an 'Instagram influencer'. Despite Hendrix
finding the conversation awkward Pierce thinks that the only way his son will get over Chloe is to move on with his life.
..

Curiously, Hendrix has decided to follow his dad's advice and is now at the Waterhole asking Yashvi if she would attend the party with him. She declines
his offer by saying that he's 'a tool' and she doesn't really like him, but Hendrix tries to persuade her that by hanging out together they won't look like
'sad singles'. Yashvi isn't convinced and thinks that turning up with Hendrix would be a worse image than turning up alone, jokingly telling Hendrix that he
should bring his cat instead. With preparations ongoing at the pub for the party, Sheila takes a break and has a chat with Gary about the situation with Kyle
and Amy. Despite Sheila being certain that her words of wisdom to Amy earlier have had an effect, a downbeat Gary admits that both Amy and Kyle are not in a
good place. He thinks that it would be a shame if there was no positive outcome to their relationship issues after such a rough year for the family.
Over at Harold's, Yashvi and Ned are chatting about the mural after running into one another, with Shane, Dipi and Kirsha looking across nervously. Having
finished her chat, Yashvi rejoins her family and is immediately met with questions from her sister and mum about the status of her relationship with Ned.
Yashvi assures her family that she and Ned are simply friends, but Dipi doesn't look entirely convinced and worries that given the breakup was so recent
something might happen between Yashvi and Ned at the party later. To deflect further questioning from her family, Yashvi shocks them by announcing that
she will be going with Hendrix to the celebrations instead, leaving her family looking even more confused. Shane is keen to ask Yashvi about her track
record with relationships, but Yashvi calmly tells him that she is doing what she has been told and is moving on with her life.
..

Back at no. 32, Toadie is trying his best to help Kyle see that Amy is worth fighting for, but Kyle is not in the mood for either talk or company and
therefore asks Toadie to leave him alone. Despite Toadie's attempts to lighten the mood by going to get some beers, Kyle angrily insists that Toadie
should go away and leave him in peace.
Feeling saddened by Kyle's bad mood, Toadie has gone to visit Sonya's tree with the kids at Lassiters, taking the opportunity to offload about Kyle
and how badly the year is ending for him and Amy. He admits that things are not getting any easier and then confesses that he still misses Sonya like
crazy, wondering how he will start the next year without her.
..

With preparations still ongoing at the Waterhole Chloe and Pierce make their way over to Sheila, with Chloe still concerned with Hendrix and whether he
will feel uncomfortable in her company after the difficult situation between the three of them. Pierce insists that things will be fine after his chat
with Hendrix, feeling positive about the year ahead and a fresh start for all of them. He takes the opportunity to see how the arrangements are going as
his mood continues to improve, with Sheila insistent that everything is going well. As Chloe and Pierce leave Sheila is momentarily distracted by a text
from Kyle which says nothing more than 'I'm fine'. Although Gary thinks that the text implies that Kyle is anything but fine, Sheila is certain that Kyle
and Amy are back on track.
Toadie decides to persevere with Kyle and returns to no. 32, demanding that he join him at no. 30. He admits that he could do with some company due to it
being his first New Year without Sonya, but Kyle is still of the mindset that he wouldn't be very good company. Despite Kyle's self-pity Toadie insists
that he join him as he can't spend the night alone with just himself and the kids, and this seems to do the trick as Kyle grudgingly agrees to come over,
on the one condition that they don't talk about their feelings.
..

A crowd are gathered at the Waterhole for the beginning of the party, with Shane and Dipi sitting in the beer garden with Gary and Sheila. They talk about
their children flying the nest as Dipi worries about having to say goodbye to Kirsha again. Meanwhile Hendrix is looking pleased with himself having managed
to change Yashvi's mind about seeing in the New Year with him, although Yashvi is already looking exasperated and admits that she may have to strangle him
before the old year is out. She tells Hendrix that she only agreed to go out with him to shut her dad up, warning him to keep his hands off her and avoid
any lame pickup lines. As Hendrix assures her that everything will be above board, Chloe is looking happy about all the favourable comments regarding the
Hogmanay party. Pierce tells Chloe that he was confident they would turn things around as Chloe admits that they are the ultimate power couple. They spot
Hendrix and Yashvi hanging out together and discuss whether they could be Erinsborough's newest couple, but Chloe isn't convinced as she is certain that
Yashvi and Ned are meant to be together. As if on cue Ned arrives at the party and sees Hendrix and Yashvi together, looking concerned as to the status of
their relationship.
At no. 30 Toadie, Kyle and the kids are watching the television as Toadie talks about Nell's determination to stay up until midnight to see the New Year
countdown. Kyle tells Nell that when he was a kid, he made a lot of noise hitting wooden spoons off pans and suggests to Nell and Toadie that they could do
that tonight. Although worried about whether this will annoy Vera Punt two doors down, Toadie thinks that this is a good idea and agrees. Talk soon turns
to Amy and despite Kyle not wanting to talk about his feelings he berates himself for Amy not wanting to have kids with what he describes as a 'total screw
up', but Toadie indicates that he should not be too hard on himself and that in time he will find someone to have a family with. Kyle laments that he always
thought of himself as top dad material but now doesn't know what he is.
..

Back at the Waterhole Ned is half-glancing over at Yashvi and Hendrix, as Yashvi jokes that she is sure Hendrix will be her first arrest when she joins the
police. It is not only Ned who is watching the pair as Shane and Dipi look over, curious as to whether Hendrix is an improvement or not over Ned. Shane
doesn't seem particularly enthused as he comments on how badly Hendrix treated Mackenzie, certain that he wants Yashvi's next boyfriend to be good for her.
He is reminded by Dipi that it is just a date and nothing more, and that they can see them from where they are sat. Realising that watching Yashvi and
Hendrix is not doing him any good, Ned turns his attention to a single female at a nearby table. He heads over to her and introduces himself, leaving Yashvi
feeling the same pangs of jealously as Ned was experiencing as she watches the pair converse.
Inside the Waterhole Hendrix runs into Chloe, and he immediately tries to leave. However, Chloe wants to talk to him, and, after making some small talk
about the party and his date, thanks him for coming to the party as it means a lot to Pierce. She admits that although it is a cliche, New Year's is a time
for her to think about the big issues in life and how things have changed so much for her in the past year. Realising that Hendrix could use some similar
direction, Chloe passes him her mobile so that he can watch a vlog that Piper made this time last year, thinking that this might help him. She rejoins the
party so that Hendrix can watch the video alone.
..

Having watched the video Hendrix heads back outside and notices that Yashvi is glancing over at Ned. He calls her a coward for not being willing to fight
for Ned and asks her if she is going to give up so easily, indicating that if she went over to talk to Ned, he would drop his date in seconds. Chloe has
been half listening to this conversation and heads over to Ned whilst his date Lara is getting drinks, telling him quite plainly that he is with the wrong
girl and should be with Yashvi. Despite Ned's half-hearted protestations that Yashvi has moved on, Chloe insists that he loves her and needs to do something
about the situation before it's too late.
A short while later Lara returns to Ned with the drinks but no sooner has she put them down then Ned walks away from her, heading over to where Yashvi and
Hendrix are hanging out. Reading the room, Hendrix quickly departs as Yashvi sarcastically asks Ned if he is having a good night. Ned cuts to the chase,
admitting to Yashvi that he is having a lousy evening, and he was never happier than when he was with her. He is certain that he doesn't deserve her trust
again but on the premise of it being the end of an old year and the start of a new one feels that this is his one true resolution, to be with Yashvi. He
promises that if she agrees to take him back, he will make sure that nothing gets between the two of them in future and that they can be together forever.
As an astonished Yashvi begins to make her reply, Gary is sending a Happy New Year text to Kyle, hoping that it is a better year for him and Amy.
..

Kyle doesn't see Gary's reply as he is fast asleep on the sofa at no. 30 with a pan on his head, with Nell sleeping beside him. With only a minute to go
until the New Year, Toadie decides that he doesn't have the heart to wake either of them up.
As the clock nears midnight Pierce is handing out sparklers to assorted revellers outside the Waterhole. As the bells see in the New Year champagne corks
are popped as Ned and Yashvi give in to their urges and celebrate with a passionate kiss. Despite the difficult situation with Chloe, Hendrix is embracing
the chance of a fresh start as he stands near to Pierce and Chloe, who are sharing a dance. He still looks slightly sad as he watches on.
..

Kyle is still fast asleep at no. 30 as Toadie watches a video of Kyle, Nell and Hugo with pans on their heads hitting them with a wooden spoon.
Back at the Waterhole, having been abandoned by Ned earlier, Lara is looking lonely as Hendrix offers to buy her a drink, with 'Auld Lang Syne' playing in
the background.
..

Toadie is looking through his emails, reading a New Year message from a fellow law firm. He then spots another email, this one from Piper, which is simply
titled 'Sonya's video'. The message from Piper reads 'I thought you should have this'. Although feeling apprehensive by what the message may contain, Toadie
opens the email and sees an image of Sonya sitting in Harold's a year earlier, looking pensive and worried as she contemplates her future. Toadie looks
overwhelmed as he tries to take in the image of his deceased wife.
