Nell tells Rhonda the therapist about when her mum died… Rhonda tells Toadie that last time he remarried, it ended in devastating loss for Nell… Nell
asks Toadie and Terese if they want to watch a movie with her… Haz and Billie split up… Sadie encourages Mackenzie to make a move on Haz, but Mack says
it’s too soon… Haz rescues Holly from Eden… Holly tells Susan that she’s going to go for it with Haz… Byron and Reece learn that Krista had a car while
she was in Erinsborough…
Reece is sitting with her feet in the pool at no. 32, lost in her thoughts, when Byron gets her attention, telling her about the time that they realised
that Trevor loves being in the water. Reece thanks him for making her smile - even though she’s been keeping things from him - and he says that it’s fine,
and now they’re on the case of finding Krista, once their five-minute swim break is over. She says that she knows Paul is suspicious about why she’s still
around, though she did enjoy watching him try to keep her sweet when he found out who she was. She says that she can’t afford to waste any more time, and
Reece reassures her that they’ll find her sister.
..
Inside the house, Haz arrives back from the beach with Trevor, calling him a ‘sandy, beachy boy’ as an amused Mackenzie listens from the kitchen. Haz tells
her that they had fun at the beach and later he’s going to take Trevor for an anxiety training session. She notices that the bruise on his face is getting
worse, and asks if he’s ok about Billie leaving in such a dramatic fashion. They make a few dog puns, before he gets serious and says that he’s sorry things
ended so badly with Eden. Mackenzie admits that she can’t believe she thought she was ready to move on, but Haz thinks that maybe she just hasn’t met the
right guy yet. They have a moment, which is quickly interrupted by Sadie walking in, asking if Trevor made that terrible smell. Reece and Byron then come
in the back door, and she says that it’s lucky Trevor is such a handsome boy. After they leave, Sadie says that it’s so weird that Reece is having sleepovers
with Byron - Mackenzie replies that it must be love, as she looks over at Haz.
At no. 22, Toadie shows Terese a picture of Amy with Zara and baby Kai, and Terese comments that Kai is looking more and more like his father every day.
Toadie tells Terese that the kids have left already, and then he has to rush off too. Just as Terese is going out the front door, a sheepish Nell starts
coming down the stairs, having believed that the house was empty. She explains that her economics assignment is due today and she hasn’t done it, so she
either bails or she fails. Nell is surprised when Terese offers to help, telling her to email the teacher and say that she’ll be in late.
..
Out on Ramsay Street, Byron is trying to work out why he recognises a phone number on the list of calls logged rom Krista’s hotel room. Jane then comes
over to him and he hugs her, saying that he was sorry to hear about the school closing. She tells him and Reece that Mike has taken the job in Scotland and
will be away for four months - but she and Sam will be going to join him for Christmas. She explains that she’s going to use all of her spare time to
catch up with friends and some jobs, like getting the car serviced. This makes Byron realise where he knows the phone number from, as the number’s in his
contacts.
At Fitzgerald Motors, Reece shows the photograph of Krista to Hudson, the mechanic. He remembers her, and says that she left a car for some repairs, but
when she found out how much it would cost, she went to get the cash but never came back - and she never left a number either. He tells them that he had to
sell the car in the end, and it went to a kid from the school who’s just passed his test. He says that it was a maroon Ford Laser, and they thank him and
leave, with Byron saying that at least they now have something to go on.
..
..
At the school, Jane is sitting at her desk when Sharon Davies arrives to see her. After making some small talk about the school closure, Sharon then asks
if Jane has heard anything from Melanie. She explains that she didn’t want to go to Toadie, as it might seem a bit insensitive, but she hasn’t heard from
her, her number has been disconnected and her house in Violet Town has been emptied. Jane thinks that Erinsborough is the last place Mel would come to, but
Sharon says that she’s worried about her and needs to know if anyone has heard anything. Jane points out that Melanie has always been quite unpredictable,
but Sharon thinks that something isn’t right…
Terese is walking Nell into the school, reminding her to breathe and not to rush through her economics speech. She wishes Nell good luck, then leaves as
she sees Jane coming. Sharon is following Jane out of the school, saying that this isn’t like Melanie at all. Nell overhears their conversation and looks
worried.
..
At no. 32, Sadie is wondering how long it takes for a DNA test to come back. Mackenzie asks if she wants to go home, but Sadie doesn’t - she just can’t
stop thinking about it. She tells Mack to go to work, and Haz offers to keep an eye on Sadie, who then remarks that they can spend some time working out
which of her parents she’ll live with after the divorce. As Mackenzie leaves, Holly arrives, all dressed up and trying to impress Haz. She suggests that
they could have a pool day and make margaritas - Haz loves the idea, but Sadie isn’t so keen.
Back at the school, Reece and Byron are in the car park, where the spot the maroon Ford Laser they’re looking for. Reece is disappointed to see how clean
it looks, worried that it means that there’ll be no trace of Krista inside. Byron suggests that he could ask his mum who owns it, but Reece doesn’t want
her dragged into it, and says that they should just wait for the owner to come back.
..
Inside, Nell is in Jane’s office, wanting to know if Melanie’s OK. Jane says that Nell shouldn’t have been listening in, and is reluctant to say anything,
but explains that Sharon was just looking for Melanie’s new address. When Nell asks where Melanie has moved to, Jane doesn’t know, and she explains that
Mel seems to have changed her phone number too. Nell is worried that Mel hasn’t told her friends where she’s gone, but Jane insists that everything will
be fine.
At no. 32, Holly is on a lilo, attempting to flirt with Haz by asking him to rub sunscreen on her back, and bringing up random facts about coffee,
while Sadie looks on, unimpressed. Holly then tried to get closer to Haz, concerned about the bruise on his face, but he quickly leaves her to go play
with Trevor.
..
Back at the school, Reece and Byron are still waiting, having picked up donuts for their stakeout. She says that it’s hard to imagine Krista driving
this car, and wonders where she was going, and where she’s been. Theo, the kid who owns the car, then walks up, wanting to know why they’re leaning on it.
Reece explains that she was wondering if he’d found anything inside when he bought it, but he says that it was just old food wrappers and a pair of shoes.
Byron is ready to give up and leave, but Reece suddenly offers a surprised Theo $5000 for the car.
Back at no. 32, Sadie brings out more margaritas, as Holly challenges Haz to carry her across the pool on his shoulders. She gets on his shoulders, but
then he notices Trevor barking by the gate and realises he wants to get out. He throws Holly into the pool and goes to Trevor, as Sadie laughs. Holly then
spots another opportunity, saying that she forgot her towel and asking to share with Haz. As they get close, Sadie takes a photo and sends it to Mackenzie,
telling her to come home straight away.
..
At no. 22, Toadie gives Nell a sandwich for her lunch. She’s distracted, and suddenly asks her dad if he knew that Melanie had moved house. He says that
he didn’t know and he wonders why Nell is asking. She explains that she spoke to Jane, after overhearing her talking to Sharon Davies. Toadie doesn’t
understand what Sharon has to do with it, but says that Jane shouldn’t have been talking to her about Mel. He asks if Nell is OK, and she says that she’s
just worried about Mel, as nobody has heard from her. Toadie sits down with her and says that Mel wants nothing to do with them, so this is none of their
business. Nell doesn’t look happy about it, and Toadie suggests booking another counselling session, before changing the subject, asking about her art
class at school.
Reece is handing $5000 over to Theo, who can’t quite believe his luck. He hands over the key and tells Reece that he hopes she finds what she’s looking
for. Byron is searching the car but all he’s found is the transfer papers, with no mention of Krista. He worries that it’s $5000 down the drain, but
Reece says that she doesn’t care about the money - at the moment, this car is her only connection to Krista. Byron suggests that they go and get coffee,
and Reece says that she’ll drive.
..
At no. 32, Sadie is hurriedly telling Mackenzie about how Holly is all over Haz like a rash. Holly comes in and overhears, saying that she’s glad
somebody has noticed, as Haz seems to be oblivious. She says that, ever since the stuff with Eden, she’s noticed how kind and funny and respectful Haz is,
and guys like that are rare. Mackenzie agrees, but Sadie looks unhappy. Holly then heads back outside for another try with Haz, and Sadie says that
Mackenzie needs to tell Holly about her feelings for Haz. Mack insists that she isn’t ready to date yet, and says that she’s fine if Holly and Haz want
to get together.
Reece and Byron are parked by Lassiters, and she tells him about the time she and Krista took their first road trip together, to the Piscataqua River,
blasting Britney Spears at full volume. She says that Krista was only 6 or 7 at the time, and it was before Reece had been sucked into the Sinclair
family business. She says that it felt like they had their whole lives ahead of them, then pulls down the sun visor and finds an affirmation card. She
says that she gave it to Krista after accusing her of having a drug problem and is surprised that she kept it, wondering if that’s a good or bad sign.
She begins to wonder if Krista’s drug problem worsened and she’s now in real trouble, but says that the private investigators found no traces of her in
any hospitals - at least, not under her real name. Byron thinks the card is a good sign, but Reece says that she just hopes that Krista is OK.
..
At the Waterhole, Nell is telling Terese about her presentation at school - Jane, meanwhile, is sitting at the bar and Toadie goes over to her. He asks
her not to talk to Nell about Melanie again, though Jane insists that Nell came to her with questions. Toadie says that Nell is in therapy and doesn’t
need any setbacks. He then heads off to the bathroom, and a flustered Jane leaves, forgetting her phone. Nell spots it and goes to run after Jane, but
stops and finds Sharon’s number on it.
..
Jane is outside Harolds, picking up her post, when Nell runs after her with the phone. Jane thanks her, then asks Nell if she was upset after their talk
about Melanie earlier. Nell insists that she’s fine, and thanks Jane for being so honest with her. As she walks back towards the Waterhole, Nell takes
out her phone and calls Sharon. She explains who she is, and asks if Sharon would be free to meet her for coffee…
