David leaves Gareth Bateman to die... Terese is shocked as Toadie gets aggressive with Santo... Chelsea and Paul kiss... Veronica wrongly believes that
Sasha and Nicolette are going away together... Nicolette, Aaron, David, Leo and Krista arrive for their holiday... Veronica is looking for Sasha, but
Nicolette insists that he isn't there... Leo and Krista are shocked when Eden turns up... David breaks up a fight between Leo and Eden, but David and
Eden end up falling down an embankment in the process...
As David starts to regain consciousness, he can hear Aaron calling his name, but can't respond.
 ..
Aaron, Leo and Krista are trying to see how far down they've fallen, and Aaron decides that he's going to have to go down there. Leo goes with him,
telling Krista, who can't get any phone reception, to go and get the car and meet them back there.
David tries to move, but is in a lot of pain. He slowly manages to make his way over to Eden, who's lying unconscious with a large bruise on his
abdomen. David pushes him into the recovery position.
 ..
Veronica is sitting outside, having finally spoken properly to Sasha. Nicolette joins her, and Veronica says that Sasha admitted to her that he wanted
to end their marriage years ago and that he was the one who pursued Nicolette. Nicolette looks guilty as Veronica says that blaming Nic was the only
way that she could make sense of what was happening.
David is trying to keep Eden calm as he struggles for breath, just as Aaron and Leo find them. David tries to get them to help Eden, but Aaron only
wants to help his husband. David insists that he only has a broken ankle and rib, and that Eden needs help more urgently. Leo, who is trying to get
phone reception, agrees with Aaron, but David says that, without help, Eden will die and he can't have that happen - not again. Aaron realises that he
won't change David's mind and kisses his husband, saying that he'll see him soon, as he and Leo then attempt to carry Eden, who is screaming in pain.
David watches them go, with a terrified look on his face.

Paul and Chelsea are in bed together and she suggests that they order room service. Paul says that he'd just like to pretend that the rest of the world
doesn't exist for a little while. As he falls back to sleep, Chelsea takes his phone and turns it off.
Aaron and Leo get Eden into the back of the car, and Krista asks them about David. Leo explains what happened, and Krista says that Nicolette wasn't
back at the house so she doesn't know yet. Leo tells Krista to drive Eden to the hospital and, as they go, Eden says that it hurts. "Good", replies Krista.
 ..
Nicolette is explaining to Veronica that she was attracted to Sasha, not at first, but something did develop. Nicolette admits that she doesn't
understand it, as she'd never felt anything for a guy before, but insists that nothing happened. She says that she should have been honest before,
and Veronica thanks her telling her now.
Aaron and Leo return to find David slumped at the bottom of a tree. Aaron desperately tries to get his husband to respond, but Leo sees the blood under
David's jacket and starts to break down as he realises what's happened. Aaron starts to perform CPR, but Leo tells him not to, as it makes the bleeding
worse. Aaron says that he doesn't know what else to do, and he screams out as an anguished Leo tells him that David is gone.

Leo and Aaron carry David's body back along the path, stumbling as they go and both still in shock from what has happened.
They then arrive back at the holiday home, as a stunned Nicolette sees them laying David's body on the ground and rushes over, breaking down as she
asks them what happened.

They then make their way to the hospital, with Nicolette driving, Leo in the passenger seat, and Aaron sitting in the back, holding David's body.
Back on Ramsay Street, at no. 22, Toadie and Terese are having dinner with Andrew and Wendy, and there is an obvious tension in the air. The Rodwells
sit in awkward silence as Toadie and Terese bicker over dessert, but it's all interrupted by the arrival of Jane. She wants to speak to Terese, but
decides that it might be better to tell all four of them at once. She explains that she's just had a call from Nicolette, who is on her way home. She
tells them about Eden turning up and the fight, then breaks down in tears as she says that David has died. Terese is stunned and her thoughts immediately
go to Paul. Jane says that Paul doesn't know yet as nobody knows where he is, at which Terese rushes off out of the house, saying that she'll find him.
Toadie is shocked as she goes, and Wendy goes to comfort Jane.
 ..
Terese rushes into the Waterhole, where she finds Holly, Haz and Mackenzie discussing David and Aaron's plan to buy no. 32. Terese asks if they know
where Paul is, and Holly reluctantly says that it might just be staff gossip, but there's talk that he's in room 505.
In room 505, Paul wakes up and looks at his watch, then asks where his phone is. Chelsea hands it to him, saying that she turned it off as he was
sleeping so peacefully. There's a loud bang on the door and Paul answers to find Terese standing there. She struggles to get the words out as she tells
Paul that David has died. Paul can't quite believe it, looking horrified as Terese says again that David is gone.
 ..
At the penthouse, Paul is asking Terese exactly what happened. Terese says that Jane didn't go into too much detail, but it sounds like David fell down
some kind of embankment during a fight with Eden. At the mention of Eden's name, Paul goes white and drops his keys. He asks where David is now, and
Terese says that they took him to the hospital. Chelsea walks over and picks up Paul's keys, at which Terese says that she should give him some space.
Chelsea tells Paul how sorry she is, and she leaves. Terese tells Paul that she'll drive him to hospital and he starts to cry as she turns his phone on
and sees all of the missed calls and messages.
Paul and Terese arrive at the hospital, where Jane, Nicolette, Leo, Aaron and Krista are already gathered. Leo hugs his father, as Karl comes and joins
them. Karl explains to Paul that it looks like something pierced David's torso in the fall. Paul says that they couldn't have gotten him to the hospital
any faster than they did, but then Leo tells him that David insisted that he was fine and to take Eden on ahead of him, because he didn't want history to
repeat itself. Karl confirms that this decision probably saved Eden's life. Paul then asks if he can see his son, and he and Leo accompany Karl, as Aaron
continues to sit silently.
 ..
Paul and Leo are shown into a room, and Paul kisses David on the forehead, as a tearful Karl and Leo watch on. Paul struggles to hold it together as he
tells his son how sorry he is.
Back at no. 22, the desserts are uneaten, as Toadie, Wendy and Andrew look after Isla and Abigail. Wendy checks that Toadie is OK, and he says that he
just feels for Aaron and Isla and everyone involved. Terese then walks in the door, still looking shellshocked, and tells Toadie that this has broken
Paul and she doesn't know how he'll survive it. Toadie asks how she's doing and she hugs him, as she says that she can't believe that David is gone.
 ..
At the hospital, Byron, Nicolette and Jane are sitting in the corridor. Nicolette says that she feels like she's going to wake up soon and this will all
have been a nightmare. Byron and Jane comfort her as she wonders how she's going to break this news to Isla.
Leo, Paul and Aaron are sitting with David's body, as Karl comes in and explains that the case has been referred to the coroner so they'll need to move
the body soon, and there'll be a lot of paperwork to fill in. Leo accompanies Paul out of the room, but Aaron remains. Karl says that they need to bring
the orderlies in soon, at which point Aaron says that he needs a little more time. He tells Karl that Isla's made a painting for David for his birthday
and that they had so many plans. He starts to cry as he repeatedly tells Karl that they need more time.

Later, Karl returns to the room, where Aaron is now sitting alone, with a box containing David's wallet, keys and phone. Aaron picks up the phone and
is surprised to see a recording on it. He then listens to David's final message to him, as we see Nicolette, Isla, Jane and Byron, Leo, Krista, Abigail,
Toadie, Terese, Wendy and Andrew, Paul sitting alone hugging a photograph of David, before we finally see David saying his last goodbye.

"Aaron, I'm sorry. I don't wanna leave you. I don't wanna leave Isla. I wanna be with you forever, grow old, watch Isla grow up. You have to tell her,
tell her how much I love her. Everyday. Don't forget. Make sure they all know, and look after Leo. All of you, take care of each other. Tell dad,
I forgive him. I do. I wish I was there to tell you myself. I'm sorry, Aaron. Don't be angry for what I did, I had to. It was the right thing to do.
You made me so happy, the happiest. Be happy again. I love you."
