sends her off alone in a car...
Max arrives at Eirini to see Agnes, handing her a Ramsay-Robinson family tree he's been working on. She's thrilled, but says that it'll have to wait as she
needs to finish packing for her trip to Port Douglas. Max then says that he has an idea about that and asks if they can talk about it.
..

At no. 24, Aaron has returned from his trip to find everyone worrying about Amanda. Byron is wondering if Amanda heard them talking about getting Power of
Attorney, and Jane admits it's a possibility, but Nic says that it's very difficult to know what's going on in the mind of someone with undiagnosed dementia.
Jane says that all she wanted was a nice day out with her and says that they'll have to take her on another day, when she's calmed down a bit.
In the Dandenongs, Amanda is standing looking out at the view when Darcy walks up behind her, apologising for being late. She says that coming here was a
wonderful idea and she wishes that her family could be here - but they've got no-one to blame but themselves. She then notices that Darcy is looking at his
phone and says that she demands his full attention, so he apologises and explains that he's meeting an old friend later and was just checking his messages.
He then puts his phone away and suggests that they go for a walk.
..

Back at Eirini, Max has put forward his suggestion that Agnes sublet her apartment and move to Port Douglas whilst she's re-editing her book, but she says
that it would be very difficult. Max points out that it would be easier than flying back and forth to Queensland all the time, and he's noticed that she
isn't happy at Eirini. She wonders how Harold would feel about her turning up and moving in around the corner, but Max is sure that he'd be happy about it
and tells Agnes to at least consider the idea before dismissing it entirely.
In the Eirini office, Jane is telling Susan about Amanda's earlier outburst and how it seemed to come completely out of the blue. Jane asks if Susan has
any idea where Amanda could be and Susan thinks that, if she isn't in her apartment, she's probably taken herself off for a manicure. Jane then asks how
Susan is doing, and Susan admits that she's upset that Karl didn't tell her about his painkiller addiction. Jane points out that things seem to have been
tense between them since they returned from overseas and Susan says that, even so, after everything they've been through, she just wants him to be well
again. Jane then asks about the problems they're having with Darcy and Susan admits that she's still trying to get her head around it all. Just then, Max
turns up and asks Susan if he can talk to her about Agnes's apartment.
..

In the Dandenongs, Darcy is on his phone, texting Tess - she tells him that she's at Jerry's Cafe and he replies, saying that he told her they were meeting
at Jenny's Cafe. He then looks up as Amanda starts talking about how Jane once tried to climb one of these tries when she was little, despite being a very
timid girl. She talks about how Jane was always looking for reasons to be terrified and, as her mum, she didn't really help. Darcy reminds Amanda that she'd
mad at Jane, but Amanda has no idea why and starts telling Darcy about how she can be very critical and she's been thinking lately about how her actions are
impacting her family. She admits to being jealous of Jane and how Nell let her get away with things that she wouldn't allow of Amanda. She says that she only
wanted to be beautiful but her mother made her feel like a criminal - but none of that was Jane's fault. As she turns back to face the view, she says that
Jane was always a good daughter and deserved better. Darcy, meanwhile, looks at her as he plots his next move.
On Ramsay Street, Wendy brings over some mail for no. 32 that accidentally got delivered to her and Max shows her the Ramsay-Robinson family tree. She's
amazed by all the different branches on it and she asks if he's still in touch with many of the people on it. He tell her how, when he was a kid, they would
go to Brisbane every other weekend for a family function and Wendy says that it's nice to just feel like you're part of something. She points out how
everyone on the street is caught up in it too, as the history is everywhere. He then asks her if she'd like a copy, as he's printed off plenty of them
and she gratefully accepts.
..

Back in the Dandenong ranges, Amanda is talking away, as if Jane is there with her, remembering when they climbed the Thousand Steps and Jane was scared,
so she promised to hold her hand and never let it go. She becomes upset as she says that she did let it go and that she was never there for her. She tells
Jane how sorry she is but is alarmed when she turns around and sees Darcy standing there. He tells her that it's alright, but she says that she thought he
was Jane and she realises that something is wrong, becoming distressed as she says that things keep slipping out of her mind and she becomes confused then
everything seems OK again. Darcy tells her that this is very common in the early stages of dementia, if that's what's wrong with her. She asks if he think
it's dementia and he admits that it's the most likely explanation, so she asks why he didn't just side with Jane earlier. He tells her that he thought that
she needed someone in her corner, as he knows what it's like to be ganged up on, and she realises that it's only going to get worse. He tells her that,
although there is medication that can slow it down, it will only get worse from here. Upset, Amanda turns around again, as Darcy tells her, with a sinister
look in his eyes, that he's sorry.
At Eirini, Susan finds Agnes, who's sitting outside looking at the family tree, and congratulates her on the news about her book. She says that it deserves
to be published and Agnes admits that she's starting to believe that it might actually happen. Agnes then realises that Susan knows about the planned move
to Port Douglas and admits that she hadn't considered it until Max suggested it, but it would make the logistics with the publisher a lot easier. Susan says
that they'd hate to lose her, but arrangements can be made with her apartment so she needn't let that stop her. After Agnes confirms that neither the
apartment nor her daughter are the problem, Susan asks Agnes what's holding her back. Agnes explains that she's worried about Harold, and her resemblance
to Madge, but Susan believes that Harold wouldn't have kept up their friendship if he still found that difficult. Agnes then admits that she does want to
go, but she wonders if she can really do it.
..

At no. 26, Wendy is looking at the family tree as Andrew comes home. She shows him and says that it's very interested to see all of the local history laid
out. Andrew says that it all looks pretty complicated and they joke about being able to see for certain how many kids Paul has. As Andrew continues to look
at it, he becomes a little upset, thinking about his own biological family.
Darcy arrives at Jenny's Cafe, quickly sitting down at a table with some dirty dishes at it, making it look like he's been waiting there for a while. Tess
then comes in and spots him - she walks over and he stands up to greet her. She looks unimpressed as he apologises, saying that he definitely told her to
meet at Jenny's Cafe, to which she replies that this better not be something that he could have said to her in an email as she's been traipsing around for
ages. He apologises again and she points out that, as he's already paid her back the money he owed, she doesn't see what other business they have with each
other. He explains that, after speaking to Karl, he realises how much hurt she's still carrying and he wants to talk things out. He asks her to just stay
for a coffee with him, so she finally agrees and sits down, telling him to 'do his worst' Darcy admits that he hurt her badly and he takes full responsibility
for that and that was why he paid her back as soon as he could afford to. Tess listens to this then says that she won't be thanking him for giving her what
she deserves and Darcy tells her that he didn't mean it like that and he hopes that they might be able to clear the air and be friends again. Her expression
starts to change as she realises how desperate he is.
..

At no. 24, Sadie tells Jane that nobody's seen Amanda at the day spa, and they realise that they've checked everywhere and she seems to have just
disappeared. Byron tells his mum that Susan's on her way over and she might have news and Aaron adds that there are still plenty of other places she
could have gone. As Sadie tries texting Amanda, Nicolette tries to make light of the situation, just as Susan arrives. She explains that a couple of the
Eirini residents saw Amanda getting into the back of a car a few hours ago but she doesn't appear to have told anyone where she was going. Susan then
suggests that, based on how distressed Amanda was, and having taken advice from Remi, they should call the police.
Back at Eirini, Agnes has her backs packed and is waiting outside to be picked up, as Max tells her that what she's doing is pretty cool. She says that
she wouldn't be doing it without a nudge from him and she tells him that he's a very special young man. She thanks him for thinking of her and for the
family tree, which she says she's going to look at during the flight. Susan then comes to say goodbye and Agnes confirms that she hasn't told Harold that
she's coming, so she'll be able to tell straight away if he's happy to see her. Max is sure that he will be but Agnes says that, if he isn't then she'll
have her book to focus on. Susan tells Agnes that it's been lovely getting to know her, adding that she believes that she would have been great friends with
Madge too. Agnes realises that, if it wasn't for Madge, then JJ wouldn't have noticed the resemblance and she wouldn't have come to Eirini or met Harold or
found a publisher, so she has a lot to thank her for.
..

At no. 26, Andrew is still looking at the family tree as Wendy comes in and asks what he's thinking about, suggesting that they could make a tree of their
own and get in touch with some of the cousins that Andrew doesn't see much of. He thinks it's a great idea, but points out that it would be missing a branch.
She realises that he's talking about his biological family and he says that this is the first time he's felt like he might be ready to take things further
and track down his birth parents. He isn't completely sure though and Wendy starts to talk about how things made more sense for her when she connected with
her cultural heritage but they're interrupted by a work call for Andrew. He says that he knows Jane Harris as she's his neighbour and he asks what they need
him to do...
Back at Jenny's Cafe, Darcy is on the phone to Susan, telling her that he hasn't seen Amanda and that he's currently with Tess. He hangs up and explains to
Tess that one of the Eirini residents has gone missing, adding that Susan says hi. Tess says that she was sorry not to be able to catch up with her when she
saw Karl the other day and Darcy says that Susan would have loved to see her, as he does too. Tess quickly stops him and says that she can't just forget about
everything that happened when they were married, reminding him that he cheated on her and she did nothing to deserve that treatment. He tells her that she was
good for him, but he did everything he could to sabotage his own happiness, but he's a better man now. Tess points out that Karl would dispute that, but Darcy
says that Karl has his own issues at the moment, but Susan has decided to trust him again and he'd like it if Tess would do the same - though he understands
if she can't. He tells her that he wants her in his life and takes her hands and asks if there's a chance that they could start again with a fresh slate.
Tess admits that she isn't sure but she's grateful for his attempts to reach out and make peace.
..

At no. 24, Andrew is reporting to Jane and her family that a car was seen on CCTV, and the driver confirmed dropping Amanda off in the Dandenongs and that
she was alone. Nic says that Amanda never does anything without an audience and that, although she's unwell, she's still functional so this is probably just
her way of sticking two fingers up at them. Susan believes that Amanda might just have decided to take the trip on her own and is out there enjoying herself,
though Byron begins to panic that she's lost and wandering around on her own. Sadie tells him not to freak out until they have all of the information, adding
that she can't see Amanda going anywhere where she'd get mud on her clothes. Andrew says that they'll get some officers out there checking the area and that
Amanda will probably be in touch when she's ready. Jane thanks him but still looks very worried.
Agnes arrives at Harold's unit in Port Douglas and knocks on the door. He's very surprised to see her and she's pleased that he called her by the correct
name this time. He says that he thought she'd be busy working on her manuscript for the publisher and she explains that she wanted to meet in person, so she
decided to base herself in Queensland for a while. Harold appears slightly taken aback, before warmly welcoming her inside, saying that he'll make them some
tea - "the perfect blend"...
..

..

Back at no. 24, there's still no news of Amanda and, whilst everyone else is anxiously checking their phones, Nic and Aaron are talking about his trip to
Hamilton Island and meeting Colton. He admits that he liked Colton a lot, but then he went and stuffed it up by lying to him. Nic says that he won't get any
judgement from her as she told a few lies of her own when she first met Kiri, though Aaron worries that Nic's behaviour is rubbing off on him. Meanwhile,
Sadie and Byron are doing the dishes - Byron wishes that he could be doing more, but Sadie insists that her dad will have everything under control. On the
sofa, Susan offers to make some more tea for Jane, but then there's a knock at the door. Jane rushes to answer, and her face immediately drops when she sees
Andrew standing there with a uniformed police officer. He tells her that he's very sorry as Jane breaks down in tears and Nic and Byron rush to her side...
