Following a farewell street party, Aaron and Rhett wave goodbye to Ramsay Street... Cara wonders how Nicolette let slip to Remi about Dex's assignment...
Jane realises that Nic is jealous of Cara growing closer to Remi again, which Nic immediately denies... Nell struggles with JJ wanting to be around her all
the time... Nell tells JJ that she's going to Colac for a few days... Nell returns and breaks up with JJ... Paul worries that something is wrong with Elle...
Paul informs Leo and Krista that Elle is on a flight back from New York...
In no. 22's back garden, as she looks at her necklace with N and J on it, Nell tells her dad about the break-up and how JJ looked very hurt but said nothing.
Toadie tells her that it'll take JJ some time to get over the shock. Paul and Leo then enter the garden, with Paul talking about how he'd been so worried
about her and now she's coming back. Toadie asks who they're talking about and Paul explains that Elle will be coming home the next day and that it sounds
like she's packed up her whole life in New York, so he's hoping that it might be a permanent return. He then notices the look on Nell's face and asks if
she's ok.
..

At no. 30, JJ has been telling his family about the break-up, with Cara, Remi and Dex all offering their sympathy, and Dex asking his brother if it's
definitely a permanent split. JJ says that Nell seemed to have thought it all through and it felt non-negotiable. He struggles to find any more words and
starts to cry.
At no. 24, as Isla is happily colouring in, Nic is quietly talking to Jane, wondering how this new arrangement is actually going to work. Jane says that
they just need to be there for each other, and for Isla and that it'll be nice to have dinner with Leo, Krista and Abigail later. Nic says that she's
already made other plans and Jane wants to know more, but they're interrupted by a knock at the door - it's Cara's cousin, Maddy. Nic introduces her to
Isla and Jane, with Jane particularly intrigued by the Murphy family connection. She and Isla then leave, and Nic offers Maddy a drink. Maddy admits that
she was pleasantly surprised to hear from Nic, as she regretted the way things ended before and she's happy to have a reset. She asks if Cara knows about
this, but Nic says that all she's interested in right now is spending time with Maddy.
..

Out on Ramsay Street, as Nell and Toadie head to the car, they see Cara, who's finishing the clean-up after the party. Nell looks to her dad, then goes
over to Cara and asks after JJ. Cara tells her that he's pretty cut-up but agrees when Nell says that she hopes that they can be friends again after some
time has passed.
At no. 22, Terese is shocked by the news that Elle will be arriving the next day, with Paul deciding that he's going to put a chocolate on her pillow. Leo
thinks it's overkill, whilst Terese is surprised to learn that Elle has quit her job and leased out her apartment. Paul admits that he felt that something
wasn't right with her when he last saw her and says that this will be a great opportunity for Elle and Terese to get to know each other, as they've only
ever spoken via video call. Paul then heads off upstairs and Leo asks Terese what she's thinking - she points out that Elle tried to sabotage her wedding
to Paul by digging up all of his ex-wives, though Leo says that was more targeted at Paul and was a way to protect Terese from marrying him. Terese still
isn't convinced and says that this all seems to be happening very quickly and something feels off about it.
..

At the Waterhole, Leo has been telling Jane and Krista about the Elle news - Jane understands why Terese would be wary, and wonders if this is going to
affect Paul's plans to split his time between Erinsborough and New York. Krista confirms that, either way, Paul's going to be stepping away from the hotel,
then asks Jane how she's feeling about Aaron leaving. Jane says that it's happened and it can't be changed, but doesn't say too much when Krista asks how
Nicolette is feeling.
At no. 24, Maddy is talking about Remi's memory loss and how she feels bad for Cara - Nic tries to change the subject and goes to get more wine, but Maddy
persists and asks Nic whether she thinks Remi and Cara will just fall in love all over again, even if Remi never gets her memory back. In a final attempt
to get off the subject, Nic goes over and tells Maddy that she's thirsty for her and not the wine, and takes her off into the bedroom.
..

The next morning, Nell is outside Harolds with Toadie and Terese, wondering if she could have let JJ down more gently, but Terese thinks that he would
have been very hurt no matter how it happened. Terese and Toadie both knowingly tell her that, the longer you put it off, the worse it becomes for both
parties. JJ and Dex appear nearby but, upon seeing Nell smiling over at him, JJ turns around and walks away. Nell is upset but Toadie tells her that he
just needs time. Terese then gets a message from Paul, saying that Elle has arrived, and she looks to Toadie to find out more about the new arrival. As
Toadie confirms that she was always trouble, and could easily match Paul at his worst, Terese sighs, wondering what she's in for. Toadie then unconvincingly
adds that this was a long time ago, so Elle is probably a lot older and wiser now.
At no. 30, Cara tells Remi that she was very touched yesterday, when Remi said that she wanted to remember her. Remi says that it's the truth and they smile
at each other, just as JJ and Dex come in. Cara suggests a family basketball game, but JJ sees through their efforts to cheer him up and says that he'd rather
just be left alone. He goes to him room as Dex sits down with his mums, telling them that JJ barely spoke while they were out, then they ran into Nell, which
made it worse. Remi explains to him that the only thing that's going to help is time.
..

At no. 22, Paul is showing Elle inside and she's asking why Terese got rid of all the trees in the front garden. Paul says that it was just time for a change
and Elle then says that the house is nothing like she remembers either. Paul tells her that it's still her home for as long as she wants it to be. Terese
appears from the kitchen to greet Paul's daughter and they share an awkward hug and even more awkward small talk. Elle tells them that the flight was very
relaxing as she didn't have any work concerns in the back of her mind and Terese asks about her quitting her job - Elle claims that it had been coming for
a while as she was becoming bored of the newspaper. She talks about how much journalism has changed in the last few years, joking that her farewell speech
was the most interesting thing she'd written in a while and, when Lucy called to check in on her, something clicked and she realised that it was time to
come home. Paul is delighted to have her back but Terese wonders how long she's staying, as Tash is about to give birth. Elle insists that there's nothing
she could do with a baby in person that she can't do over a video call and Paul goes over to hug her, though Terese seems unconvinced by Elle's stories.
At no. 24, Jane comes in from the back garden with a basket of washing, surprised to see Nicolette saying goodbye to Maddy as she leaves. Once Maddy has
gone, Nicolette sarcastically pretends to have a microphone and crosses to Jane for a 'very important lecture' - Jane simply asks her daughter what she's
doing dating Cara's cousin. Nic says that she isn't exactly full of options when it comes to women who want to spend time with her, but Jane thinks that -
minus all of her antics - she's quite the catch. Nic thanks her mum for the back-handed compliment but tells her to drop it, so Jane takes her washing and
leaves.
..

At no. 22, Leo, Krista and Abigail arrive to see Elle - Abigail immediately runs over for a hug, whilst Krista says that it's nice to finally meet Elle, as
she's heard so much about her. Elle tells them that it's nice being back and that she's enjoying meeting her fab new housemates, nodding at Nell, who's
sitting on the couch and apologises for not being her 'fabbest' at the moment. Elle says that it's perfectly understandable and Terese calls them all over
for lunch. Elle is impressed by the spread, though Terese is quick to point out that she didn't make it, just curated it. Elle tells her that she's a
wonderful curator, before apologising for the stunt she pulled with Paul's ex-wives all those years ago. She insists that it wasn't about hurting Terese
but about testing Paul and whether he was ready for another marriage. As Elle says that he was clearly ready to be with Terese, she jokes about their
break-ups and a 'Toadie-sized diversion' which everyone but Terese is amused by. They all then make a toast, as Terese looks furious.
At Harolds, as Nic is working behind the counter, Jane is sitting with a coffee and receives some photos from Aaron in Adelaide, with his siblings and
she says that they all look so happy. Nic thinks that, if Aaron had to leave, then Adelaide is the best place for him. Cara then comes in and tries to
make small talk with Nic as she orders her coffee, but gets little in return. When Cara goes to answer a text message, Jane coughs at her daughter, who
goes over and admits that she's having 'feelings' about Cara and that sleeping with Maddy last night was the wrong call. Jane suggests that she should
let Maddy down gently, and sooner rather than later, as Cara watches from a distance, wondering what's going on.
..

Back at no. 22, Elle says that Amy is fuming that she's going to be the first ex-pat sibling to see Yorokobi in person and Paul adds that if she likes
the vineyard now, it looks even more impressive in the summer. Elle realises that he's angling to find out if she'll be staying until then and admits that
she doesn't hate the idea of sticking around and that, in terms of work, she's open to any opportunities that come her way. When Paul and Elle go upstairs
to check on Abigail, Terese tells Leo and Krista that she doesn't believe that Elle upended her entire life on a whim, and that bringing up the ex-wives
stunt was just an excuse to bring up Terese's short-lived marriage to Toadie. Though Leo isn't so sure that Elle has something to hide, Krista admits that
she's getting the same impression as Terese. Terese then suggests that Leo could try contacting some of their mutual friends in New York - he's reluctant,
but both Krista and Terese think that it would be good to know what's really going on.
At no. 30, JJ is sitting alone, staring at his phone, as Dex sits with him and tries to get him to play video games. JJ says that he just wants to be in
his own head for a while, and Dex jokes that it sounds like a terrible place to be, but he accepts this. There's a knock at the door, which JJ immediately
recognises as Nell and he asks Dex to get her to leave him alone. JJ then goes to his room as Dex answers the door and Nell asks if JJ is home. Dex tells
her that he is but Nell realises that he doesn't want to see her, so she asks if he's OK. Dex points out that she dumped him without any warning and, as
JJ listens in from the corridor, Dex tells Nell that he understands that she feels bad and wants to make things better, but JJ is his brother. She then
turns and leaves, as Dex closes the door.
..

Toadie and Nell are leaving the tram with their coffees and she says that, although she understands that not everyone stays friends after a break-up, she
really needs JJ to be OK, and she can't make sure he is if he won't talk to her. Toadie tells her that she's the one who dumped JJ, so it's understandable
if he won't talk to her, and she agrees, but admits that she just feels guilty. Toadie reminds his daughter that she gave the relationship everything and
was honest until the end and she thanks him for his support. He says that he was thinking about sticking around for another day or two and was wondering
about holding a big sale of the foundation's storage stock in the Lassiters complex. Nell thinks it sounds like a great idea and just the distraction she
needs.
..

At no. 22, Leo receives a message from his friend Jerome in New York, whose version of events differs from Elle's. He explains to Terese and Krista that
Elle didn't resign, she was fired, and that there was some sort of scandal. As Terese and Krista are wondering what happened, Elle and Paul come down the
stairs, and Elle notices the strange atmosphere, asking what's going on. Terese says that a friend of Leo's has told them a very different story about why
she left her job, and Elle looks sheepish as Paul looks to his daughter for answers.
..

Inside no. 22, JJ finds Nell, still tearful, and says that he understands that she's upset about Aaron, so they can just stay inside rather than rejoin the
party. Nell then takes a deep breath and tells JJ that she likes him and cares about him so much but, while she was in Colac, she realised that something
had been building inside of her for a while. JJ is confused as Nell tells him that he's her best friend and she cares for him, but her feelings towards him
aren't romantic. JJ asks if he did something wrong, but Nell tells him that she's just come to realise that they're not meant to be a couple. JJ looks
devastated as Nell tells him that she hopes that they can stay friends and he then turns and leaves without saying a word.
