With Melanie Pearson reluctant to send out her CV to look for work as a personal assistant, her friend Mackenzie Hargreaves decided to do it anyway, believing that she was helping. Unfortunately, it opened a whole can of worms when Dr Anna Buke, the wife of Justin Buke, Melanie's former boss, turned up and reminded her that she'd destroyed her marriage and was under a restraining order. Melanie's friends, and especially her boyfriend Toadie, were shocked to learn about her past, but listened as Melanie explained that Justin had told her that his marriage was over, but he was actually using her to punish Anna. Melanie admitted to putting prawns in Anna's car as revenge when she started badmouthing her, but insisted that there was fault on both sides. However, when Mackenzie was later chatting to her friend Nora at uni, she heard about Nora's recent internship, explaining about how her boss was rumoured to have had an affair with his personal assistant, describing her as, like Melanie, having a laugh like a seal. When Mackenzie asked if this was Justin Buke, Nora said that it wasn't and, as Mackenzie then started calling around other legal firms on Melanie's CV, she realised that this had happened at all of them and that Melanie had a pattern of sleeping with her bosses.
