When a film festival was taking place at Lassiters hotel, a booth was set up in the complex to provide health checks for men, screening for testicular cancer. As Hendrix Greyson had his check-up with Dr Cye Alavi, he was informed that a lump had been found and he'd need to book an appointment with his GP to have it looked at properly. After several days in denial, Hendrix finally booked an appointment, now convinced that he had cancer after experiencing a variety of symptoms, but ended up missing the appointment as he imagined a scenario in which Dr Alavi delivered the news that he had cancer.

As his personal life started to be affected and girlfriend Mackenzie split up with him due to his distant behaviour, Hendrix finally saw a doctor and went to the hospital for an ultrasound. He was very relieved to learn that the lump in his testicle was a benign cyst and his other symptoms were likely down to the stress he'd been experiencing. However, as Hendrix was given the all clear, another Ramsay Street resident, Kyle Canning, was informed that he did have testicular cancer. After attending his initial appointments in Frankston to avoid his family finding out, Kyle told girlfriend Roxy and she joined him for his biopsy results at Erinsborough Hospital. At his appointment with Dr Alavi, Kyle learnt that the cancer had spread to his lymph nodes and he'd need an operation to remove the testicle, followed by chemotherapy. With most of his friends and family still unaware of Kyle's cancer diagnosis, he went in for the operation with Roxy by his side, later waking up to be informed by Dr Alavi that the operation was a success but they had found cancer in his other testicle too, so had been forced to remove them both.
