When his mother-in-law Helen Daniels met art promoter Douglas Blake, Jim Robinson was pleased as both their personal and professional relationships developed. But when neighbour Max Ramsay spotted Douglas outside the Robinson house one day, he recognised him and mentioned to Jim that he'd done some plumbing work for Douglas and his younger wife earlier that year. Alarmed to hear that Douglas was married, Jim got his address from Max, and went to the house, behind Helen's back, to try to get to the truth. There, he spotted Douglas leaving the house with a younger woman, but was embarrassed when Douglas introduced her as his younger sister, Amanda.
