Convinced that Claudia Watkins had things to hide and wasn't a suitable guardian for her granddaughter, Aster Conway, Chloe Brennan was shocked to overhear her talking to a man named Jeremy Briggs. Jeremy, a corrupt police constable, had been paid by Claudia the previous year to destroy evidence that proved her son Finn's guilt, allowing him to be released into the community and, a year later, commit murder. Now a senior constable, Jeremy tracked Claudia down, hoping that she might be able to pay him for more work, but she quickly turned him down. Later in the year, it was mentioned by newly-qualified officer Yashvi Rebecchi that Jeremy was now in prison for his crimes.
