Having been diagnosed with MS, Susan Kinski started looking into new and experimental treatments with a company named Bartilo & Co. She was considering attending one of their seminars about a new MS drug trial, but her husband, Karl, a doctor, felt that it was too dangerous. Susan decided to attend anyway and sat in the audience next to married couple Ruth and Dave Cato. As Mike Shaw, the man leading the seminar, finished talking, he opened up the floor to questions, and Susan was surprised when Karl, from the back of the room, started questioning Mike about the information, and she happily moved over so her husband could join her, proudly telling Ruth and Dave that Karl was her husband.

• Janet Watson Kruse previously appeared as Molly Wright in 2006, and returned as Roz Challis later in 2008
