Whilst widower Des Clarke was on a six-month business course in Perth, he met and fell for Fiona who, like him, was a widowed parent. Before returning to Erinsborough Des proposed, and Fiona delightedly accepted. Des then sold his house in Ramsay Street and moved to Perth permanently to live with his soon-to-be wife and her two children, Michael and Elyse. Sadly, their happiness was not to last. On his return to Erinsborough in 2003, Jamie Clarke told Stuart Parker that Des and Fiona’s marriage had ended within a few short years.
