Following an abseiling accident which left Josh Willis unable to swim professionally, only months before he was due to attend the Commonwealth Games, a feud broke out between the Willis family and the Turner family, with Josh's father, Brad, threatening Mason with legal action, feeling that he was to blame for what had happened. The incident caused tension for Mason at work, too, as his boss was Josh's mother, Terese, though they both did their best to keep things professional. However, they were in for a shock when process server Mason arrived at the hotel looking for Mason and served him with legal documents, telling him of Brad's intention to sue.
