With Harolds Cafe leaseholder Haz Devkar in a coma after being hit by a car, Lassiters started advertising for someone to take over the lease, claiming that he'd broken the terms of his lease prior to his accident. His friends decided that they needed to prove that the business was still viable and so Mackenzie and Holly opened the cafe, with Haz's friends and neighbours on Ramsay Street volunteering their time until the business was making enough to pay the staff again. As they were trying to drum up trade, Holly approached Tim Duffy and his friends who were passing, asking if there was anything he was interested in. He saw the board advertising 2 for 1 toasties and said that he liked sandwiches, but they had to be gluten free or they caused serious health problems for him. Though slightly taken aback by this information, Holly showed him to a table and did her best to upsell him from tap water to coffee.
