As Shane Rebecchi started working behind the bar at The Waterhole, manager Sheila Canning became increasingly annoyed with how slow he was and how much time he spent chatting to the customers. He was sure that his friendlier approach was what customers preferred over Sheila's more matter-of-fact hospitality style, so the two of them made a bet to see who could get more tips during the shift. As Shane shared long, and boring, stories with customers including TJ Gantry, he soon found that Sheila was actually receiving a lot more tips than him and he conceded defeat. Sheila then told him that, as manager, she couldn't take her tips anyway, so hers would need to be shared between the other bar staff, though Shane was more concerned about the fact that she didn't seem to even remember the bet that they'd made.
