After taking a series of counselling sessions and psychological assessments to determine whether he could join the Australian police force, after witnessing the murder of his police partner in the UK, Adam Rhodes underwent a final series of tests, in which he had to spot where a crime was about to happen, amongst a group of actors in the park. During his first test, Adam saw a young couple, but wrongly assumed that the man, Philip Landsend, was the criminal, failing to spot the girl, Sharon Gates, about to hit him with a crowbar. But during the second test, he spotted a drug exchange as Sharon pushed a pram around, and acted quickly when he realised that Philip was about to attack him from behind.
