As Steph Scully grew close to former prisoner Mitch Foster, she was touched to see him approach a little boy, Jamie Gilchrist, in the Coffee Shop one day. Jamie was upset about something, and Mitch got the boy to admit that he’d lost his lunch money and his dad would kill him if he found out. Mitch gave Jamie some more money to replace it, a gesture that made Steph realise that she wanted to pursue a relationship with him.
