Following the discovery of Gus Cleary’s body in the charred remains of Lou’s Place pub, Boyd Hoyland became a prime suspect for his murder, having already behaved threateningly towards the man. When Boyd’s alibi for the night of the fire proved to be a fabrication and he was caught out lying in a police interview, detectives Phil Graham and Chris Poulos arrived at his house with a search warrant, hoping to find evidence that Boyd committed the crime.
