After running away from her problems at home, with her boyfriend and family smothering her over her pregnancy, teenager Bridget Parker headed off to Nelson Cove, a picturesque area where she had spent family holidays. As she got off a ferry and waited for a bus, Bridget was approached by Maddy Green, a woman who was backpacking with three guys. Maddy offered Bridget a lift and, at first, she turned it down, but after deciding to take more risks, she threw her phone in the bin and accepted the ride. The guys first decided to take a detour to the beach, where Bridget lied to Maddy that her name was Kim and she was on a gap year before starting medical school. Maddy encouraged her to travel overseas, before Bridget realised that she was about to miss her bus, so they gave her a lift back down to the bus stop, only to drive away with Bridget’s bag and money as she got out of the van.
