River Hanlon 2020
Occupation: University Student, Drug Dealer
After becoming a mature age student at Eden Hills Uni, Shane Rebecchi found himself struggling to keep up with his studies, as well as his family life and
job at the Waterhole. Having taken some of Richie Amblin's ADHD drugs to try and help him to cope, Shane needed more, but when Richie turned him down, he
started buying speed from River Hanlon, a friend from uni who he'd been studying with, when the two of them needed to pull an all-nighter to complete an
assignment. It soon became clear that River wasn't the only person dealing in the area, as drugs were also appearing more and more at Erinsborough High.
As the police started to look into it, newly-qualified Constable Yashvi Rebecchi became suspicious of her senior, Detective Sergeant Dax Braddock. As Shane's
drug problem was revealed, Dax was unwilling to question River about his involvement, and Yashvi became convinced that Dax was corrupt and was in control of
the dealing, using River and one of the students at the high school to do his dirty work.
As River had gone missing, Yashvi realised that she needed to find him to prove her theory, but after getting a lead, she was unable to track him down.
Unbeknownst to her, River was watching and, when she was gone, he contacted Dax and asked for help. Dax then arranged for Yashvi to find River, who had
been hit with a police taser and, when he regained consciousness, he blamed an innocent Yashvi for the attack. She was then suspended and, as she attempted
to prove her innocence - and Dax's guilt - she uncovered evidence that he'd had access to a large amount of drugs that had been seized by the police and
seemingly destroyed in a fire. After going to the school to try and find out who was dealing there, Yashvi realised that it was student Lacy Lane, who had
already called Dax to warn him that the police were asking questions. When Dax turned up and realised that he'd been found out, he took a group of teachers
and students hostage, threatening them with a taser, and, before being arrested himself, admitted to Yashvi that the dealing was to get money for the family
of Jeremy Briggs, his former, corrupt, police partner who'd gone to prison.
