When Declan Napier and Ringo Brown were both invited to go for training sessions with the Carlton Blues, with the view to one of them started training with them the following year, Ringo's girlfriend Donna Freedman was jealous and convinced Declan's girlfriend Bridget Parker to join her in spying on them at the training ground. There, they spotted Declan and Ringo being approached by groupie Sharni Hillman, who fawned all over them, asking them to sign her chest. Once the boys were gone, Donna couldn't resist striding over and confronting Sharni, who simply laughed in her face.

But it turned out that it wasn't Donna who should have been concerned. A few days later, Bridget broke the news to Declan that she was pregnant with his child, and he reacted badly, got arrested by the police for speeding, and ended up succumbing to temptation when he bumped into Sharni again at Lassiter's. Unfortunately, they were spotted kissing by Zeke, who later confronted Declan, who explained the entire situation, and later told an unimpressed Sharni that he already had a girlfriend, hoping it would be the end of the matter. However, when everyone was gathered at a winery the next day to celebrate the engagement of Libby Kennedy and Daniel Fitzgerald, Zeke was stunned when Sharni turned out to be one of the waitresses. But, as he tried to warn Declan, Sharni came over, angry at being used, and revealed everything to a devastated Bridget.
