After being expelled from Erinsborough High, Sophie Ramsay was forced to started attending Eden Hills Grammar, a local private school. Her friend Rani Kapoor had been a student there the previous year and warned Sophie to stay away from Claudia Howard, as she was trouble. Sophie was therefore alarmed when, on her first day, she was met at the gates by Claudia, the year 9 house captain, who’d been instructed to show her around. Having learnt that Sophie was expelled from her last school, and noticing the holes where her nose ring had been, Claudia was rude to Sophie, and refused to pass to her during a soccer game later that day. But the following week, when another soccer game took place, Sophie was determined to prove herself and managed to score the winning goal, earning herself an invitation to soccer camp. But when Claudia came over to congratulate her and shake her hand after the game, Sophie simply laughed in her face.
