Igor’s wife Mishka Schneiderova initially hid the existence of her cruel husband back in Russia from her new Australian lover Lou Carpenter. Eventually Mishka admitted the truth that Igor wouldn’t let her get a divorce and that he was a political prisoner, so she had left Russia with a fake passport and was now an illegal immigrant. Sadly Igor managed to track his wife down and sent hired goons to kidnap her and bring her back home. Lou travelled to Russia to rescue Mishka but after a short time together, Igor was released from prison. This meant Mishka was forced to pretend she didn’t want Lou in her life anymore and she went as far as pushing him down stairs to save him from a much worse fate from a nearby Igor.

Lou and Mishka were later reunited when she got a job as an airhostess but the airline route was cut and she was forced to attempt to get residency in Australia. This sadly failed when she tried to bribe the government official and was sent straight back to Russia.
