Following his sudden break-up with girlfriend Holly Hoyland, Max Ramsay was finding it difficult to move on, not understanding why she'd split with him, completely unaware that she had embarked on an affair with married neighbour Andrew Rodwell. As Max's friends Sadie and Taye tried to cheer him up, the three of them took a trip to the beach, where Max quickly hit it off with volleyball player Jayda. Sadie and Taye were happy to see the pair getting on so well, hopeful that Jayda might be just what Max needed to finally move on from Holly. Unfortunately, as they had ice cream together later in the day, Jayda leaned in for a kiss and Max quickly pulled away, explaining to her that although he was single, he wasn't over his ex and wasn't ready to be with anyone else just yet.
