Soon after the opening of retirement complex Eirini Rising, a few of the residents had items go missing and some, including Moira Tohu and Elenora Santoro had their credit cards stolen and used. When it turned out that some students from the neighbouring Erinsborough High were responsible, having made a copy of the master key that joined the two properties, it was decided that more needed to be done to try and form bonds between the elderly residents and the students. A meeting was arranged at Harolds Cafe, attended by Geoff Johnson, who was paired up to chat with one of the students, Jasmine Stewart. When Jasmine found that she had little in common with him, she gave up, and was then paired with Elenora Santoro instead, while Geoff fell asleep.
