As Hendrix Greyson got himself in deeper and deeper with Kane Jones and his illegal card games, one of the other players, Natasha Leighton, spotted an opportunity to get herself a better life. Working three casual jobs and trying to make more money by playing blackjack, Natasha decided that Hendrix's girlfriend Harlow Robinson, with her rich grandfather, Paul, was a good target for some quick money and kidnapped her, before sending Paul a ransom note. With a terrified Harlow grabbed from the street and bundled into Natasha's delivery van, then left in a boathouse, she was confused about what was going on, but Natasha insisted that it was just about money and she didn't want to hurt her. Meanwhile, Nicolette Stone, who knew about the illegal games and had attended one with Natasha, bumped into her at Harold's Cafe, asking if she knew anything, convinced that Kane was responsible for the kidnapping. Natasha claimed to know nothing, mentioning that she hoped that Harlow would be found as she sounded like a nice girl when Hendrix had mentioned her.

After then finding out that Hendrix had deliberately never mentioned Harlow to any of the other players, Nicolette grew suspicious. She decided to put in a food order for delivery, then when Natasha arrived at the Waterhole to collect it, she cancelled it and took the opportunity to follow Natasha and see where she went next. A frustrated and angry Natasha then returned to the boat shed, walking in with a baseball bat to find that Harlow had already started to free herself. After witnessing Natasha threatening Harlow with the bat from the window, Nicolette called the police and, seeing a fight unfolding inside the shed, as Natasha tried to tie up Harlow again, Nicolette burst in and tackled Natasha to the ground, allowing Harlow to escape. Nicolette then grabbed the bat and threatened to use it, holding it over Natasha until the police arrived and the kidnapper was arrested.
