He decided to sell his car, and it was bought by a man named Brett for $23,000, with Rhys then opening an anonymous fund for Patrick and putting all of the money into it. The following week, Brett was out when he spotted Lucas Fitzgerald's van, with the Fitzgerald Motors logo on it. Wondering why Rhys had been trying to get rid of his car so quickly, Brett approached Lucas, asking him to give the engine a quick look. As they got chatting, Brett mentioned Rhys and Lucas - the father of baby Patrick - suddenly realised who was behind the anonymous fund and where the huge sum of money had come from.
