Tania Linwell 2025
Marital Status: Eric Linwell
After reporting her bosses, Eric and Dale, the Linwell brothers, for their unsafe work practices, Cara Varga-Murphy found herself receiving threats and intimidation to stay
quiet but she stuck to her guns and they ended up in prison. A couple of years later, having left the construction industry to become a cop, Cara noticed that
there had been a series of copper thefts from building sites in the area and that Ricky Denham, a known associate of the Linwells, had recently been arrested
for a separate crime. Convinced that the Linwells were somehow involved, and that, if she could prove it, it would prevent them from getting parole, Cara
found out that there was a warehouse nearby that was owned by Ricky's uncle. Though it seemed to be abandoned, she went to check it out and, after almost
being caught by Ricky, she managed to record him talking about how he had someone onside in local government, known as 'Jonesy'. This, accompanied with a
car boot full of guns, gave the police reason to put more resources into finding out what was going on. However, when journalist Elle Robinson then found
out what was going on, she sent the story to The Daily Monster, leaving Cara facing more threats and deciding to send her family away for their safety.
When Cara then found out that her father, Greg, had gone camping and hadn't been answering his phone, she tracked him down to find him unconscious in his
caravan, claiming that he'd been attacked and that they'd mentioned Cara's name. Cara quickly took him home with her, unaware that he was actually
reluctantly working for the Linwells and reporting to Eric's wife, Tania Linwell and her stooges, Ricky and Jax. With Greg casually chatting to his daughter about
the case and having befriended Elle to try and find out what she knew, he was well-positioned to help the Linwells. They then staged a hit-and-run,
with Greg saving Elle's life after a car sped towards her and giving the police the make and number plate, helping them to quickly track down the
vehicle. Inside, they found a hard drive that had been planted there by the Linwells and, as the police tried to find out what was on it and followed
the leads, Tania was happy to have sent them off on a wild goose chase.
Greg's help allowed the Linwells to distract the police as Eric and Dale's parole was only a week away and Tania couldn't resist a visit to Erinsborough to
taunt Cara - who she'd been at high school with - about the police's failed attempts to get some evidence of the crime ring, using information from the
planted hard drive. Tania made it clear to Cara that Eric and Dale would be released the following week and, although she'd stood by Eric, Dale's wife had
ended their marriage, so the brothers were out to make someone pay. Tania then met with Greg, and it became clear that he had been feeding information to
the Linwells to help them, but in return they had agreed not to harm Cara or any of her family. With Greg wanting to know if he'd done enough now, Tania
made it clear that she wasn't making any promises until Eric and Dale were out of prison and the Linwells were making money again. Now aware that he'd never
be able to trust Tania or anything she told him, Greg decided that he'd have to take more decisive action and he got hold of a gun in order to end things
once and for all.
A couple of weeks later, Tania was back in the Lassiters complex, this time with Eric and Dale in tow, as they'd been granted parole. The three of them
wasted no time in taunting Cara, explaining that they were going to stay at the hotel to celebrate their freedom. As Tania then referred to Cara as 'Shed
Girl', Greg later asked his daughter what that meant and Cara was forced to open up about her painful experiences of bullying in high school. She told her
dad how she and Tania had been best friends and she'd decided to come out to her and, after initially being fine about it, Tania had suddenly turned on her,
telling everyone at school and warning the other girls that Cara would try and take them behind the shelter shed. The bullying had ruined Cara's time at high
school and, when they later saw Tania again, Greg suggested to his daughter that it was never too late for her to speak up about how she felt. Cara told Tania
how sad it was that she was still using stupid nicknames from their teenage years and how her behaviour had made her feel ashamed of who she was back then.
She went on to say that she was now very proud of her life and that she doubted that Tania could say the same. When Eric and Dale then turned up, asking if
Tania had booked a room yet, she told them that the hotel was full and they'd have to stay elsewhere, before beating a hasty retreat.
