A new employee of the day spa at Lassiters Hotel, Elaine Louder was approached by another new staff member, Chloe Brennan, who had recently been taken on by interim manager, Leo Tanaka, as his new executive assistant. After noticing on the bookings that David Tanaka was having a massage later that day, Chloe persuaded Elaine to make it a couple's massage, explaining that it would be a nice surprise for David and his boyfriend. What she failed to mention was that David's boyfriend - and Chloe's brother, Aaron - was actually his ex, and that this was part of a plan to get them to spend time together and hopefully reunite after a difficult period. Chloe then had to try to convince Aaron to go to the spa, without mentioning that David would be there, but the whole plan backfired when a busy Aaron offered the massage to another Brennan sibling, Mark. When David then turned up for his appointment, he was surprised when Elaine told him that his boyfriend was waiting, and was even more confused when he found Mark in the treatment room, leaving Chloe with a lot of explaining to do.

The following year, with Finn Kelly's presence on Ramsay Street causing division in many relationships, including those of Aaron and David, and Ned and Bea, he arranged for the two couples to have a day together at Lassiters Hotel's spa, where they were welcomed by Elaine. As Elaine asked which couple wanted to use the sauna first and which couple wanted the massage, Bea decided that she couldn't be around Ned and took David instead. Although the plan ultimately worked for David and Aaron, who sorted out their differences, it didn't prove to be so successful for Bea and Ned. Later in the year, Elaine was working when Terese Willis arrived at the spa for a facial, only to find that three of her fiancé Paul's ex-wives, Lyn, Rebecca and Gail, were already there. The three ex-wives were part of a plan to convince Terese not to marry Paul, as he would only ruin her life, a plan that ultimately failed when Paul and Terese married a few weeks later. The following year, Elaine was working at the spa when Dipi Rebecchi decided to treat Roxy Willis to a pedicure. The day proved to be extremely awkward, with Dipi unaware that Roxy had recently misconstrued her friendship with Dipi's husband Shane and tried to kiss him.
