When Des Clarke arranged a date with his colleague from the bank, Marilyn Temple, he realised too late that his housemate Daphne Lawrence had invited someone over for dinner. They agreed a compromise, with the four of them having dinner together, but there was an immediate awkwardness in the room when Daphne's date, Leo Mason, arrived, as it was clear that he and Marilyn already knew each other from Leo's aerobics class, which also happened to be where he met Daphne. As the evening progressed, and conversation dried up, Marilyn announced that she'd have to be heading home, at which point Leo quickly offered her a lift. She happily accepted and they left together, with Des and Daphne forced to see the funny side of the situation.
