During a film festival taking place at Lassiters hotel, Lorant Mathieson, the man in charge of the festival, was impressed with the launch night party organised by Amy Greenwood, manager of the hotel's Flamingo Bar. Unfortunately, the night ended badly when Toadie Rebecchi and Rose Walker started playing pranks on each other, as she tried to give him a drink which was just pure lemon juice, and he then laced her drink with chilli. After drinking it, Rose then spat it out, right into Melanie Pearson's face, which caused her to fall back and land on the buffet table. Lorant, who also happened to be Rose's boss, was furious with the whole debacle and warned her to sort out the poor PR and the insurers who were threatening to hike up their premium.
