On the day that 26 Ramsay Street was due to be sold, real estate agent Greg McIntyre turned up to auction off the house, amused to find that the Parkers, who were renting the property, had been busy messing it up, hoping to put off potential buyers. The plan failed miserably and, after Greg had spoken to owner Janelle Timmins on the phone to check her reserve price, the auction got under way, with the Parkers facing off against Marco Silvani, as well as Tim Collins, who hoped to buy the house, knock it down and build three townhouses on the land, but was facing opposition from other residents. Steve Parker was knocked out of the race early on, and it looked like Tim was going to win the property, until Steve surprised everyone by bidding $600,000, winning the house, but going $80,000 over his budget. Later that year, Greg also showed engaged couple Daniel Fitzgerald and Libby Kennedy around a house, close to Ramsay Street, that Dan was planning to buy for them to live in once they were married.
