Monty 1999

When Lou Carpenter found a new way to raise money – by holding rat races in his pub – he was showing his friend Harold Bishop his rat-racing contraption, when the rodent, Monty, escaped into the pub. A couple of weeks later, Harold and his wife Madge realised that they were about to receive a visit from a health inspector and started frantically cleaning, only to discover Monty scurrying around. After several attempts to catch him, and no success with rat traps, the inspector suddenly arrived, but luckily she didn’t spot the vermin and they passed with flying colours.
