Following the death of her husband, Ned, elderly farmer Mrs Forbes was struggling to keep the farm going, but received a little help when runaways Danny Ramsay and Scott Robinson arrived on her doorstep. But their help was not enough to keep the business afloat, and Mrs Forbes received a visit from her solicitor, Mr Gabbott, who explained that she was going to have to consider the future of the farm, now that Ned was gone. He explained to her that the bank was insisting that the farm be sold, and Mrs Forbes eventually agreed to do it.
