Mr Hemmings 1985
Occupation: Accountant at Allied Accounting

With his marriage to Joan Langdon only weeks away, Des Clarke advised his mother Eileen that she should start looking for part-time work, as he wouldn't be able to subsidise her rent on her unit for much longer, and she could also do with getting out and about and meeting some new people. She took his advice and went for an interview with Allied Accounting, despite having no experience in accounting or as a secretary. The secretaries and other applicants were then amused as Eileen loudly voiced her opinions during the interview and could be heard in the waiting room as she told interviewer Mr Hemmings that he should hire someone with some experience, rather than a younger woman. Mr Hemmings then led Eileen back out to the waiting room, thanking her for coming, and she left, though not without noticing that everyone was staring at her.
