Guest Character Profiles > Mrs Brown Wynne Pullman

Mrs Brown 1989

During a busy lunch hour at the Coffee Shop, Harold Bishop was alarmed when one of his customers, Mrs Brown, demanded that she be given her 50% discount, as was promised in the advertisement. Harold had no idea what she was talking about but, when she threatened to make a scene, he agreed. Later, another customer threatened to get violent, and Harold was again forced to give him his meal for half price, only later realising that the whole thing was down to his son-in-law, Joe Mangel, who had painted a huge billboard in Lassiter’s car park with ‘Daphne’s dazzling discount day. All lunches today half price’ as part of an ongoing feud between the two men.
