When the staff at Wattle & Wysteria, who supplied Lassiters hotel with their flowers, got in touch and said that a major contract had fallen through and they had lots of arrangements going cheap, owner Paul Robinson was unable to use them. He then spotted an opportunity to get in touch with ex-wife Terese Willis, whose marriage to Toadie Rebecchi had just ended, by buying the flowers and offering them as a gift to Terese to use at her retirement complex, Eirini Rising. Having missed Paul's message on the subject, Terese was surprised when florist Ruth Nicholas arrived with the delivery. Though her colleagues Karl and Susan were worried about Paul having an ulterior motive, Terese was touched by the gesture and went with Ruth to collect the flowers, before later visiting Paul to thank him.
