When a hostage situation began to unfold at the Waterhole, as criminal Justin Ashton turned up, demanding some money that had been stolen by Holly Hoyland, the police quickly gathered information on who was inside and the Critical Incident Response Team were called in. After managing to sneak in the back extrance, Felix Rodwell called his brother, Sergeant Andrew Rodwell, giving the police the opportunity to listen in on what was happened, and Felix then pretended that he was a kitchen hand who'd been hiding out back and joined the other hostages, including Holly, her stepmum Susan, and Paul Robinson. As the situation dragged on into the following morning, matters came to a head when it was revealed that Andrew's wife, Wendy and her friend, Quinn, had been hiding out in the bar's office. As there was a complicated history between Andrew, Wendy and Quinn, Andrew was horrified as he heard what was going on and briefly froze, before instructing the CIRT Officers to storm the building. Fortunately, Felix had managed to disarm Justin and everyone made it out to safety.
