With Yashvi Rebecchi seriously considering a career as a football player, having recently completed work experience with a local club, her parents Shane and Dipi found out that a talent scout was going to be at Yashvi's first big game that weekend. They tried and failed to keep this information from Yashvi, who appeared unphased, but the game ended badly when Dipi got into an argument with another parent on the sidelines, distracting Yashvi and causing her to miss a crucial kick. Yashvi was convinced that her chance was lost, but was surprised when the scout, Jaida Patrick, turned up the next day and told her that she definitely had raw talent and, with a little more experience, she might be interested in signing her for the following season.
