After an abseiling accident left aspiring Olympic swimmer Josh Willis in great pain with a shoulder injury, jeopardising his chances of attending the Commonwealth Games, his slow recovery was spotted in the gym by Kirk Porter. Noticing how much Josh was struggling, and having read his story in the local newspaper, Kirk approached him with the offer of hooking him up with some stronger drugs. Though Josh turned down the offer at first, after realising that his progress was extremely slow and his chances of ever making it as a swimmer were incredibly slim, he fished Kirk's business card out of the bin and got in touch with him to buy some drugs, which had the desired effect for Josh and allowed him to complete a workout for the first time in weeks. The following week, Josh was trying to stop taking the drugs after only a few days of taking them, but was clearly in a lot of pain, and this was picked up on by Kirk. He encouraged Josh to get some more tablets, but Josh was reluctant, insisting that he could manage. However, after struggling through a particularly painful workout, Josh accepted Kirk's offer of help, determined that he would only take the drugs for a few days, and that they'd be out of his system before his next test for banned substances.
