When an upset Ringo Brown drove off in Carmella Cammeniti’s fruit truck, annoyed with the way everyone was disapproving of his friendship with her, he ended up losing control and crashing outside Carpenter’s Mechanics garage, almost hitting Susan Kinski in the process. As Susan’s husband, former doctor Karl Kennedy, helped to save Ringo’s life, paramedic Phoebe Roberts arrived and thanked Karl for his help, asking if he was a doctor. Karl said that he wasn’t, and Phoebe told him that Ringo was lucky he was there, leaving Susan further frustrated with the way her husband had turned his back on the medical profession.
